Mama Baer
Mama Baer (born Andrea Katharina Ingeborg Göthling; 29 October 1981) is a German sound recordist of noise music and post-industrial music. She is a filmmaker and visual artist at Flensburg. She has had solo and group art exhibitions around the world, and her short films have been presented at several film festivals. Early life Mama Baer was born Andrea Katharina Ingeborg Göthling on October 29, 1981. Career She works as a sound recordist in the field of Noise and Post-industrial music, visual artist, and filmmaker at Flensburg. She often works together with her husband Kommissar Hjuler as Kommissar Hjuler und Frau. A self-taught artist, she began making music in 1999 and visual art in 2006. Mary Bauermeister
Mary Hilde Ruth Bauermeister (born 7 September 1934) is a German artist who works in sculpture, drawing, installation, performance, and music. Influenced by Fluxus artists and Nouveau Réalisme, her work addresses esoteric issues of how information is transferable through society. "I only followed an inner drive to express what was not yet there, in reality or thought", she said of her practice. "To make art was more a finding, searching process than a knowing." NO!Art
NO!art is a radical avant-garde anti-art movement started in New York in 1959. Its founders sought to deliver a shock to the complacent consumerist society around them. The movement was initiated by Boris Lurie, Sam Goodman and Stanley Fisher who had come together to organise exhibitions at the March Gallery. They gave the name NO!Art to the movement on the occasion of their show at the Gallery Gertrude Stein. They set themselves against the contemporary trends in Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art in art, and used their work to attack Fascism, racism and imperialism in politics. The NO!art exhibitions bore titles such as the Doom Show, the Involvement Show, the No Show and the Vulgar Show. They were often scatological in theme with one exhibition, the 1964 No Sculptures/Shit Show featuring works resembling piles of excrement. Morphogenesis (band)
Morphogenesis is a British experimental music group specializing in improvised noise music and the use of unconventional instruments and sound-making devices. Founded in 1985, the group usually was composed of ex-Scratch Orchestra member Roger Sutherland (also the author of ''New Perspectives In Music'', London: Sun Tavern Fields. ), Adam Bohman (a member of C.I.M., Conspiracy, and many other improvising groups), Ron Briefel, Clive Hall, Fred Sansom, and sometime Organum cohort Michael Prime, who has developed techniques of using the bioelectrical fields of plants to create music. Eugene Chadbourne (born January 4, 1954) is an American banjoist, guitarist and music critic. Life and career Chadbourne was born in Mount Vernon, New York, but grew up in Boulder, Colorado. He started playing guitar when he was eleven or twelve, inspired by the Beatles and hoping to get the attention of girls. Although he was drawn to Jimi Hendrix and played in a garage band, he found rock and pop music too conventional. He gravitated to the avant-garde jazz of Anthony Braxton and Derek Bailey. Niki De Saint Phalle
Niki de Saint Phalle (; born Catherine Marie-Agnès Fal de Saint Phalle; 29 October 193021 May 2002) was a French-American sculptor, painter, filmmaker, and author of colorful hand-illustrated books. Widely noted as one of the few female monumental sculptors, Saint Phalle was also known for her social commitment and work.
