Malvinder Mohan Singh
Malvinder Mohan Singh is a businessman who is now under arrest for criminal breach of trust. He, along with his brother Shivinder Mohan Singh (also under arrest), has many cases of fraud registered against him. Singh is the former chairman and CEO of Ranbaxy Laboratories, an Indian pharmaceutical company that was sold to Japanese drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo. Singh resigned in 2009 after Ranbaxy posted losses and after Daiichi Sankyo decided to get more actively involved in the newly acquired Indian unit. In the early hours of 11 October 2019, Malvinder was arrested near Ludhiana, India, on account of a Rs. 740 crore fraud case against him and his brother Shivinder. Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited was an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company that was incorporated in India in 1961 and remained an entity until 2014. The company went public in 1973. Ownership of Ranbaxy changed twice over the course of its history. Singh was the non-executive vice chairman of Fortis Healthcare, an Indian company. He is currently under arrest for criminal breach of trust along with his brother Malvinder Mohan Singh.
