Maltkiln Farm, Plumley
Maltkiln is a proposed new village development centred around railway station in North Yorkshire, England. The development is just south of the A59 road, with the railway from Harrogate to York running through the middle of the new village. Originally set for 4,000 homes and suitable amenities for the size of the development, one of the landowners pulled out of the scheme in 2023, requiring a reassessment, which scaled down the number of homes to 3,000. Background A report from 2019 detailed that the Harrogate borough consisted of 160,000 people living in almost 67,200 homes. By the year 2030, the population across the district is expected to increase to 170,000. The Harrogate Local Plan, which was adopted in March 2020, called for the building of 13,377 new homes (637 homes per annum over 21 years). North Yorkshire

A59 Road
The A59 is a major road in England which is around long and runs from Wallasey, Merseyside to York, North Yorkshire. The alignment formed part of the Trunk Roads Act 1936, being then designated as the A59. It is a key route connecting Merseyside at the M53 motorway to Yorkshire, passing through three counties and connecting to various major motorways. The road is a combination of historical routes combined with contemporary roads and a mixture of dual and single carriageway. Sections of the A59 in Yorkshire closely follow the routes of Roman roads, some dating back to the Middle Ages as salt roads, whilst much of the A59 in Merseyside follows Victorian routes which are largely unchanged to the present day. Flaxby
Flaxby is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is close to the A1(M) motorway and east of Knaresborough. Flaxby was once part of the wapentake A hundred is an administrative division that is geographically part of a larger region. It was formerly used in England, Wales, some parts of the United States, Denmark, Southern Schleswig, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Bishopric of Ösel–Wiek, C ... of Claro. A1(M) Motorway
A1(M) is the designation given to a series of four separate controlled-access highway, motorway sections in England. Each section is an upgrade to a section of the A1 road (Great Britain), A1, a major north–south road which connects Greater London, London, the capital of England, with Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The first section, the Doncaster Bypass, opened in 1961 and is one of the oldest sections of motorway in Britain. Construction of a new section of A1(M) between Leeming, North Yorkshire, Leeming and Barton, North Yorkshire, Barton was completed on 29 March 2018, a year later than the anticipated opening in 2017 due to extensive archaeological excavations. The Borough of Harrogate is a local government district with borough status in North Yorkshire, England. Its population at the census of 2011 was 157,869. Its council is based in the town of Harrogate, but it also includes surrounding towns and villages. Cattal
Cattal is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England, about east of Knaresborough, and is located west of the city of York. Cattal is located on the River Nidd. Despite being a small village it is served by Cattal railway station on the Harrogate line (operated by Northern); the railway station generally provides an hourly service to the nearby cities of York and Leeds. Green Hammerton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the A59 road, west of York and east of Harrogate. Along with nearby Kirk Hammerton, the village is served by railway station on the Harrogate line.
