Malon Al-Jiboori
Malon Maurice Al-Jiboori (born August 1, 1997) is an American rugby union player who plays for the United States men's national rugby sevens team and the United States men's national team (XVs). He currently plays for Ealing Trailfinders and the Houston SaberCats in Major League Rugby (MLR). Al-Jiboori previously represented the United States at the international level with multiple age-grade sides. Early life Al-Jiboori was born on August 1, 1997. Al-Jiboori grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended Union High School. Al-Jiboori played American football throughout his youth, earned a college football scholarship, and aspired to play in the NFL. However, Al-Jiboori began playing rugby at the age of 16, after watching an older brother play the game. 2016 World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge
The 2016 World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge was the inaugural rugby union tournament created by World Rugby for national 'A' teams to develop home grown talent for their national test sides. The Americas Pacific Challenge provides the Pacific nations a chance of further competition outside their own region, as the Pacific Challenge is reduced to just the Pacific nations when Rugby World Cup qualifiers are played. For national 'A' teams from the Americas, this new tournament replaced the pre-2015 format of the Americas Rugby Championship, which is now an annual championship elevated to test status. The tournament was hosted by Uruguay, with all matches played at the 14,000 capacity stadium Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo. Division 1-A Rugby (formerly known as the College Premier Division) is the highest level of college rugby within the United States and is administered by USA Rugby. Division 1-A rugby is modeled after NCAA athletic competitions, with the 67 D1-A rugby schools divided into eight conferences: East, Mid-South, Rocky Mountain, California, Big Ten, Liberty, Red River, and PAC. Lindenwood Lions Men's Rugby
The Lindenwood Lions men's rugby team represents Lindenwood University in college rugby. Lindenwood plays in Division I-A in the Mid-South conference. The team is coached by Josh Macy. The Lindenwood men's rugby team won the 2012 USA Rugby Division II national championship in its inaugural season, and finished second in Division I-AA for the 2012-13 season.
