David Malo
David Malo or Davida Malo (1795–1853) was a chiefly counselor, a Hawaiian intellectual, educator, politician and minister. He is remembered by subsequent generations of Hawaiian people and scholars primarily as a Native Hawaiian historian of the Kingdom of Hawaii. In 1852 he was ordained as a minister at Kēōkea, Maui. Life David Malo was born in Keauhou on the Island of Hawaii around 1793. He spelled his name Davida, since syllables always end in vowels in the Hawaiian language. Malo (band)
Malo (English: "Bad") is an American musical group known for its blend of Latino, rock, jazz and blues. The San Francisco-based ensemble was led by Richard Bean, Arcelio Garcia, and Jorge Santana, the brother of Latin-rock guitarist Carlos Santana. Three of Malo's original members (Garcia, Pablo Tellez, and Santana) had previously played in the band The Malibus. The other three members (Abel Zarate, Roy Murray, and Richard Spremich) had played together in the group Naked Lunch. (Zarate also played in a band called the Righteous Ones together.) History The band featured full horn and percussion sections in the style of contemporary bands Blood, Sweat & Tears and Chicago. Some of the best musicians in the Bay Area were featured in Malo, including Luis Gasca, Forrest Buchtel, Jr., Ron Smith, and Tom Poole in the trumpet section. Malo (saint)
Saint Malo (; also known as Maclou, Maloù or Mac'h Low, or in Latin as Maclovius or Machutus, 27 March 520 – 15 November 621) was a Welsh mid-sixth century founder of Saint-Malo, a commune in Brittany, France. He was one of the seven founding saints of Brittany. Life Malo's name may derive from the Old Breton ''machlou'', a compound of ''mach'' "warrant, hostage" and ''lou'' (or ''loh'') "brilliant, bright, beautiful". Details of Malo's career have been preserved in three medieval 'Lives' that seem to include incidents associated with multiple people bearing a similar name. Malo was probably born in Llancarfan (Wales) in approximately 520. He was the son of Dervel, sister of Amwn Ddu, and therefore cousin to St. Samson. He was placed in the abbot's care at a tender age, and grew up at the abbey, where he was ordained priest and assigned the office of preacher. The ''O le Ao o le Malo'' ( Samoan for "Head of State") is the head of state of Samoa. The position is described in Part III of the 1960 Samoan constitution. At the time the constitution was adopted, it was anticipated that future heads of state would be chosen from among the four ''Tama a 'Aiga'' "matai" paramount chiefs in line with customary protocol. This is not a constitutional requirement, so Samoa can be considered a parliamentary republic rather than a constitutional monarchy. Malory Legardinier (born 1994), known professionally as Malo', is a French-Australian singer and songwriter. He was born in Caen. Malory studied at Barrenjoey High School. Malo (formerly known as ''St. Bartholomew'') is an island in Vanuatu off the southern coast of Vanuatu's largest island, Espiritu Santo, in Sanma Province. It has a circumference of and an area of . It is long, and wide. The highest point on the island is Mount Malo (). The climate is perhumid tropical. The average annual amount of rainfall is roughly .
