Laura Malmivaara (born 10 December 1982), performing under the stage name Malla, is a Finnish actress and singer. Early life Malmivaara was born in Jyväskylä in 1982, and was raised there. Her name at birth was Laura Malmivaara, but she uses the name Malla to avoid confusion with her cousin, actress Laura Malmivaara. She is of Sámi peoples, Sámi descent, through her grandfather. Wilhelmi Malmivaara
Wilhelm "Wilhelmi" Malmivaara (until 1900 Malmberg; 13 February 1854 – 12 January 1922) was one of the leaders of Finnish Awakening in the beginning of the 20th century. He was a member of the synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland in 1898, 1908, 1913 and 1918 and was also a representative of the clergy in the pre-independence Diet of Finland in 1897, 1899, 1900 and 1904–05 and a member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Finnish Party from 1907 to 1918 and the National Coalition Party from 1918 to 1920. Malmivaara was born in Lapua, the son of Finnish Awakening movement leader Nils Gustav Malmberg and Helena Jaakontytär Huhtala. He worked together with Mauno Rosendal and Juho Malkamäki as a leader of the awakening movement and as a vicar (leading pastor) of Lapua parish in 1900-1922. Olli Malmivaara
Olli Malmivaara (born March 13, 1982) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League for the New Jersey Devils. Biography As a youth, Malmivaara played in the 1995 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Järvenpää. He later played in Jokerit where he made his SM-liiga debut; in 2003 he signed with SaiPa and spent two years with that team. Malmivaara was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks as their fourth-round pick, #117 overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. In 2006, he signed with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Malmivaara was a physical defenceman in the Finnish league, where he racked up an average of over 100 penalty minutes a season. The Devils signed him looking for defensive depth in Lowell. Arvi Einar Malmivaara (23 May 1885 – 30 August 1970; surname until 1906 ''Malmberg'') was a Finnish Lutheran clergyman and politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1935 to 1939, representing the Patriotic People's Movement (IKL). He was also active in the Lapua Movement.
