The Mallorca Open Senior was a men's golf tournament on the European Senior Tour. In 2009 the tournament was called the Son Gual Mallorca Senior Open and was held at Son Gual Golf, Palma, Mallorca while in 2012 it was played at Pula Golf, Son Servera, Mallorca, Spain. In 2012 the prize fund was €200,000. Son Servera
Son Servera is a municipality in northeast Majorca, in the Balearic Islands, Spain. Founded in 1300 by James I of Aragon, in the lands of the Servera family, Son Servera was first documented in 1354 with the name of ''Benicanella'', which would later become two towns: Son Fra Garí and Ca l'Hereu which would then become Son Servera. In 1814, king Ferdinand VII puts Son Servera municipality in Arta. In 1920, the population was struck by plague, but in 1934 the population reached 1,000 inhabitants and returned to the status of municipality. Mike Harwood
Michael Geoffrey Harwood (born 8 January 1959) is an Australian professional golfer. Harwood was born in Sydney. He turned professional in 1979 and has extensive experience on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour. His first Australian title was the 1986 Australian PGA Championship. He won five times in Europe, first being the 1988 Portuguese Open, his second European Tour victory in 1989 was the PLM Open in Sweden. In 1990, his first of three major Europe wins was the European Tour's flagship tournament at Wentworth, which was then called the Volvo PGA Championship, later that year he won the Volvo Masters at Valderrama, two weeks later in Australia he won the West End South Australian Open by five strokes. Eamonn Darcy
Eamonn Christopher Darcy (born 7 August 1952) is an Irish professional golfer. He won four times on the European Tour and played in the Ryder Cup four times. Professional career Darcy, with a handicap of 12, turned professional at the age of 16, in 1968,.becoming an assistant at Grange Golf Club in Dublin. The following year he moved to Erewash Valley Golf Club in Derbyshire, staying until 1979. Darcy's tournament career coincided with the start of the European Tour in 1972. He first came to notice in 1974 when he was a joint runner-up in the Nigerian Open. In Europe he was tied for third place in the Portuguese Open and tied sixth in the Dunlop Masters, finishing 36th in the Order of Merit. Christopher Gary Williams (born 20 March 1959) is an English-born golfer who currently lives in South Africa. Williams has won seven times on the Sunshine Tour. Professional career Williams was born in Liverpool, England. He moved to Johannesburg, South Africa shortly before turning professional in 1978. He joined the Sunshine Tour in 1985, and won his first title; the Lexington PGA Championship, during his debut season. He has won six more events on the Sunshine Tour since then. Paul Wesselingh
Paul Wesselingh (born 11 October 1961) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Senior Tour. Career Wesselingh was born in Liverpool. He turned professional in 1985 but opted for a career as a club professional rather than attempting a touring career, due to his desire to stay close to his young family. His club career culminated in a position as senior professional at Kedleston Park Golf Club in Derbyshire, where he succeeded former European Tour player David J. Russell. During this stage of his career, Wesselingh won the European Club Professionals Championship, played three times in The Open Championship and played on three GB&I teams against the USA in the PGA Cup. Upon turning 50 in 2011, Wesselingh opted to play on the European Senior Tour, coming through the qualifying school at the end of that year.
