John Mallette
John Michael Mallette (August 6, 1932 - August 21, 1995) was an American biologist, academic administrator and civic leader. He was a professor of biology at Tennessee State University and an administrator at the University of Tennessee at Nashville. He researched cholesterol, oral contraceptives and cyclamates. He is the namesake of John Mallette Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Early life Mallette was born on August 6, 1932, in Houston, Texas and attended St. Nicholas Elementary and High School there. He graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1954, where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 where he was medic and stationed in Germany. He subsequently earned a master's degree from Texas Southern University in 1958 and a PhD from Pennsylvania State University in 1962, both in Biology. Malikha Mallette is an American former radio personality, voice-over artist and actress. She is most known for her former work at New York radio station Power 105, where she previously hosted afternoon drive. Malikha's interest in radio came as a result of meeting with the program director of a radio station. Malikha started her career as a promotions intern at WVEE-FM, "V-103" in Atlanta, and within a few months, was hired for an on-air overnight shift. Vital Mallette
Joseph-Léon-Vital Mallette (16 September 1888 – 17 April 1939) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec and became a miller and secretary-treasurer. Mallette was mayor of Pointe-Claire, Quebec from 1923 to 1927, after terms as a community alderman from 1915 to 1917 and from 1922 to 1923. He was elected to Parliament at the Jacques Cartier riding in the 1935 general election. In 1937, Mallette spoke in the House of Commons of the representative politics that followed the Lower Canada Rebellion a century earlier, in which his grandfather was a Patriote. His speech carried an implied charge that Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King had ignored the centennial of the rebellion. Brian Drew Mallette (born January 19, 1975) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played part of one season in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers in , and one season in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes. Mallette was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1997, and he signed with the team on June 9. In 2002, Mallette was called up to the majors. He pitched five innings that season before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in October. He began the 2003 season with the triple-A Las Vegas 51s, but pitched in just one game before being released. He was signed by the Buffaloes, and finished the season with them. In , he returned to North America, pitching for the Louisville Bats in the Cincinnati Reds organization. Before the 2005 season, Mallette signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Troy Matthew Mallette (born February 25, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Mallette played in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Playing career Mallette was drafted 22nd overall by the Rangers in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft and played 456 regular season games in his professional career, scoring 51 goals and 68 assists for 119 points and collecting 1226 penalty minutes.
