Malleshwara
Malleshwara (also referred as Malleshwaram) is a northwest neighborhood and one of the zones of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike in Bengaluru, India. It was planned in 1889 after the great plague of 1898, developed as a suburb in 1892 and handed over to the city municipality in 1895. As per 1878 Survey of India map, the area came under the village of Ranganatha Palya and later was named after the Kadu Malleshwara Temple. The neighbourhood houses many offices one them being World Trade Center Bengaluru. It also has shopping malls Mantri Square and Orion Mall (at the two ends of the locality). Education boards of the state- KSEEB and PU boards - are located here. History H. V. Nanjundaiah, the first Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University is credited with the building of the then suburb of Malleshwara. The neighbourhood of Malleshwara hosts people from all walks of life. Kadu Malleshwara Temple
The Kadu Malleshwara Temple kn, ಕಾಡು ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರ is a 17th-century A.D. Hindu temple dedicated to the Shiva located in the Malleshwara locality of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The word 'Kadu' means forests, here referring to the thick greenery all around the temple. About The temple was built in the 17th century A.D. by Venkoji, the brother of the Maratha King Shivaji in Dravidian style of architecture. Shiva is worshipped as Mallikarjun. One part of the temple, Nandishwara Teertha Temple (Basava Theertha), is in front of the temple. It is said to be the main source or birthplace of the Vrishabhavathi River. Central Tiffin Room (CTR) or Sri Sagar Hotel is a heritage restaurant in northwest Bangalore established in the 1920s by Y.V. Subramanyam. It is notable for its Masala Dosas that come in butter and non butter variants. It is situated at the 7th Cross Road corner of Margosa Road, Malleshwaram, opposite to the Malleshwaram Grounds. History Founders This hotel was started by Y.V. Subramanyam and brothers (Y.V. Srikanteshwaran, Y.V. Krishna Iyer and Y.V. Ramachandran) in the 1920s. They hailed from a village called Yelagondana Halli, Mulbagal taluk, Kolar district, whose residents are Ashtagrama Iyers of Tamil origin. It is recorded that during the visit by the Maharaja of Mysore, Y.V. Subramanyam supplied and served breakfast in traditional attire. They opened another hotel in Krishna Buildings, Avenue Road. Yeshwanthpura
Yeshwanthpur, officially Yeshwanthpura is a locality in the north western part of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is located to the north of Malleshwara and west of Hebbala. The biggest wholesale market of agricultural produce in the city, the Yeshwanthpur APMC Yard, is situated in the locality. The green line of Namma metro passes through Yeshwanthpur metro station and allows the connectivity to all the extension of the city. Etymology Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar's association with Yeshwantrao Ghorpade led to common meetings, usually spent on hunting, and cup of tea in the outskirts of his Bangalore Palace. which was a small village and had the proximity of Mysore sandal soap factory. History Of Bangalore
Bangalore (; ) is the capital city of the state of Karnataka. Bangalore, as a city, was founded by Kempe Gowda I, who built a mud fort at the site in 1537. But the earliest evidence for the existence of a place called Bangalore dates back to c. 890. Medieval period The oldest inscription in current-day Bengaluru is the Hebbal-Kittayya inscription, which dates back to the Ganga dynasty in Karnataka and mentions the administration of Sripurusha. Carved in early Kannada script, it pays tribute to Kittayya, who was martyred defending his land in a battle during Sripurusha’s reign.
