Maldives Third-Way Democrats (MTD), a political party officially registered in the Maldives. MTD attained formal registration at the Elections Commission (Registrar of Political Parties) on 27 December 2018. MTD is a healthy mix of young politicians and more familiar veteran leaders in local politics. The first signatory to the party was the former Vice President of Maldives, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, who wrote the charter of the party in jail in isolation. Ahmed Adeeb
Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor ( dv, އަޙްމަދު އަދީބު ޢަބްދުލްޣަފޫރު; born 11 April 1982) is a Maldivian politician who briefly served as Vice President of Maldives in 2015. Prior to his appointment on 22 July 2015, he served as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Early life and education Ahmed Adeeb was born and raised in Male' City. Adeeb is the son of Abdul Ghafoor Adam and Shaheema Mohamed. He attended the Majeediyya School for his primary education before receiving his degree from Staffordshire University in 2007. He received his Master of Business Administration Degree from Edith Cowan University in 2008. Career Adeeb began his career in 2001 at Maldives Customs Services. The Third Way is a centrist political position that attempts to reconcile right-wing and left-wing politics by advocating a varying synthesis of centre-right economic policies with centre-left social policies.
