Malcolm McPhail
Malcolm McPhail (1895 – 1975) was a Scottish footballer who played as an outside left, primarily for Kilmarnock, with whom he won the Scottish Cup in 1920. He was selected to play for Scotland in an unofficial 'Victory International' in 1919. McPhail later served as a director of St Mirren. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. Robert Lowe McPhail (25 October 1905 – 24 August 2000) was a Scottish professional footballer, who played for Airdrieonians, Rangers and represented Scotland. Career Airdrieonians Born in Barrhead, McPhail started his career at Glasgow Junior side Pollok. He signed for Airdrieonians in 1923, forming a potent partnership with Hughie Gallacher at Broomfield Park. They won the Scottish Cup in 1924 when McPhail was aged 18, beating Hibernian 2–0. McPhail said, "The terror-like attitude of Gallacher caused havoc with the Hibs defenders.
