Malcolm Duncan (soccer)
Malcolm Duncan (born September 4, 1999) is a soccer player who plays for Forge FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Duncan played youth soccer with Sigma FC. He is of Canadian, Jamaican, and British descent. College career In 2017, he began attending Providence College, where he played for the men's soccer team. He earned his first collegiate point, picking up an assist, on September 9, 2017, against the Harvard Crimson. In 2019, he earned the team's David Kreinsen Unsung Hero Award. In January 2021, ahead of his senior season (for the delayed 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic), he was named team captain. In May 2021, after the Spring 2021 season, he was given the Sine Qua Non Award, given to the athlete who has distinguished themself among their peers without receiving proper recognition. 2017 League1 Ontario Season
The 2017 Men's League1 Ontario season was the fourth season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 semi-professional soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. For the first time, the league expanded to include teams in the nation's capital, Ottawa, allowing it to span from the western to eastern borders of southern Ontario. Forge FC Players
A forge is a type of hearth used for heating metals, or the workplace (smithy) where such a hearth is located. The forge is used by the smith to heat a piece of metal to a temperature at which it becomes easier to shape by forging, or to the point at which work hardening no longer occurs. The metal (known as the "workpiece") is transported to and from the forge using tongs, which are also used to hold the workpiece on the smithy's anvil while the smith works it with a hammer. 2023 League1 Ontario Season
The 2023 Men's League1 Ontario season was the ninth of League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Following the 2023 season, the league will split into three divisions with promotion and relegation between them. Simcoe County Rovers FC were the league champions, having defeated Scrosoppi FC in the final to capture their first title. Clubs With the exception of Pickering FC, 21 of the 22 clubs that took part in the 2022 season participated in 2023. Because of the format changes planned for the following year, the league imposed a one-year moratorium on any new teams joining the league. 2023 Forge FC Season
The 2023 Forge FC season was the fifth season in the history of Forge FC and the club's fifth season in the Canadian Premier League (CPL), the Canadian soccer league system, top flight in Canadian soccer. Forge were the defending CPL champions, having defeated Atlético Ottawa in the 2022 Canadian Premier League final. The club was managed by Bobby Smyrniotis in his fifth season as head coach and first season as sporting director. This was Forge FC's first season without any matches in international competitions after having failed to qualify for the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League. Forge won a record-extending fourth CPL championship, defeating regular-season champions Cavalry FC 2–1 at home in the 2023 Canadian Premier League final. 2022 Forge FC Season
The 2022 Forge FC season was the fourth season in the history of Forge FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the 2022 Canadian Championship and the previously delayed final of the 2020 Canadian Championship. Forge FC began its season in February by competing against Mexican club Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League, becoming the first Canadian Premier League club to play in the competition.
