Mala Rodríguez
María Rodríguez Garrido, known as Mala Rodríguez, is a Spanish Latin hip hop artist based in Barcelona. She appeared as a judge on Spain's '' La Voz'' prior to releasing her first album in seven years, ''Mala'', in May 2020. Rodríguez released her memoir, ''Cómo ser Mala'', in June 2021. Rodríguez is also the first female artist to win both Best Urban Album and Best Urban Song at the Latin Grammy Awards, as well as the first urban artist to win Spain's National Music Award. Early life Maria Rodríguez was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz on February 13, 1979. She grew up in Seville and became involved with the city's thriving hip-hop scene as a teenager. ''La Voz'' (Spanish for ''The Voice'') is a Spanish reality talent show broadcast on Antena 3. La Alta Escuela was one of the pioneering formations of the rap in Sevilla, Spain. Formed by Tote King (mc), Juaninacka (mc) together with Juanma (MC) (mc), Dj Randy (dj) and El Tralla (mc) (the one who left the group before extracting his only one LP ''En pie de vuelo''). Biography They began as a group of several friends doing music to amuse their selves. It was consisting of Tote King, Juaninacka, Juanma and Dj Randy. They had in project extract a model but Acción Sánchez listened to his work and thanks to him they obtained the necessary contact to turn the above-mentioned model in what it would be his first and only one LP ''En pie de vuelo'' (1999). This work today is considered by some as the classic one of the Spanish hip-hop, in spite of small repercussion that had in his moment.
