Makindu is a town in Makueni County, Kenya. Location The town is located on the Nairobi- Mombasa Highway, in Makueni County, in southeastern Kenya on the map, close to the International border with the Republic of Tanzania. Sikh Temple Makindu, Makindu
Sikh Temple Makindu is located about 104 miles (170km) from Nairobi on the main Nairobi to Mombasa Road. It was built in 1926 by the Sikhs who were working on the construction of the Uganda railway line from the coast (Mombasa) inland to Lake Victoria and beyond to Uganda. Today, all types of people visit this Gurdwara everyday and it is a 'must-see' Gurdwara for any Sikh travelling to Kenya and East Africa. Chyulu Hills National Park
The Chyulu Hills is a mountain range in Makueni County in southeastern Kenya. It forms a 100-kilometre-long volcanic field in an elongated northeast–southwest direction. Its highest peak is 2,188 metres high. The Leviathan Cave (also known as Kisula caves) in Chyulu Hills National Park is about 11 km long, one of the longest caves in Africa. Machakos, also called Masaku is a town in Kenya, southeast of Nairobi. It is the capital of the Machakos County, Kenya.
