Makarim Wibisono
Makarim Wibisono is an Indonesian diplomat and the former Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories. Early life Wibisono has a masters in International Political Economy from Ohio State University after which he completed his PhD in political science. He has another masters in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University. Career From 1997 to 2000, Wibisono was the Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York City. He was the Chairperson of the APEC Counter Terrorism Task Force from 2003 to 2004. From 2004 to 2007, Wibisono was the Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the United Nations in Geneva. Wibisono was the ASEAN Foundation Executive from 2011 to 2014. In May 2014, he was appointed the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian. Michael Lynk
Stanley Michael Lynk (born 1952) is a Canadian legal academic. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territories occupied since 1967. Early life and education Michael Lynk was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to parents: Sarah and Stanley Lynk. His maternal grandparents were Lebanese emigrants to Canada. Lynk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in 1974, followed by a bachelor of laws from the same university in 1981, before completing a master of law at Queen's University. Professional career Lynk is an associate professor of law at the University of Western Ontario. Palestinian Territories
The Palestinian territories are the two regions of the former British Mandate for Palestine that have been militarily occupied by Israel since the Six-Day War of 1967, namely: the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has referred to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as "the Occupied Palestinian Territory", and this term was used as the legal definition by the ICJ in its advisory opinion of July 2004.
