Maymunah Bint Al-Harith
Maymunah bint al-Harith al-Hilaliyyah ( ar, مَيْمُونَة ٱبْنَت ٱلْحَارِث ٱلْهِلَالِيَّة, Maymūnah ibnat al-Ḥārith al-Hilālīyah; ), was a twelfth wife of Muhammad. Her original name was Barrah ( ar, بَرَّة, link=no), but Muhammad changed it to Maymunah, meaning "good tidings", as his marriage to her marked the first time in seven years when he could enter his hometown of Mecca from Medina. Family Her father was Al-Harith ibn Hazn from the Hilali tribe of Mecca. Her mother was Hind bint Awf from the Himyari tribe in Yemen. Her full sister was Lubaba the Elder. Maïmouna Ndoye Seck (born 1962 in Dakar) is a Senegalese politician. An alumnus of the Ecole Polytechnique of Thiès, she was the Minister of Energy from 2013 to 2015 and the Minister of Tourism and Air Transport from 2015 to 2017, before she became the Minister of Air Transport and Airport Facilities Development in September 2017. Maïmouna Sourang Ndir (born 3 October 1952) is a Senegalese politician who served in various government ministry positions as well as being Senegal's ambassador to France from 2009 to 2012. Early life and education Ndir was born on 3 October 1952 in Saint-Louis, Senegal. Her mother is writer Fatou Niang Siga. She received a master's degree in social sciences from Université Laval in Quebec in 1996. Maïmouna Kane (13 March 1937 − 1 March 2019) was a Senegalese jurist and politician. Biography Kane was born in Dakar. She was a judge at the Supreme Court of Senegal, and member of the government under president Abdou Diouf. On 15 March, 1978, she was appointed State Secretary to the Prime Minister responsible for the Status of Women.
