Bar, Montenegro
Bar ( Montenegrin and Serbian: Бар, ; sq, Tivar; it, Antivari or ''Antibari'') is a coastal town and seaport in southern Montenegro. It is the capital of the Bar Municipality and a center for tourism. According to the 2011 census, the city proper had 13,503 inhabitants, while the total population of Bar Municipality was 42,068. Name ''Bar'' is a shortened form of ''Antivari''. International Handball Federation
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957. The 2018 European Women's Handball Championship was held in France in from 29 November to 16 December 2018. It was the first time France hosts the women's tournament. The Liga Națională is a league of professional women's handball league teams in Romania. Run by the Romanian Handball Federation, the competition is also known as the Liga Florilor MOL and is contested by sixteen teams. The National Handball League is Romania's top-level domestic women's handball-league club competition. The team with the most Liga Națională championships is SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea with twenty. The FRH organization also oversees the Divizia A. Handball At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The handball tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 28 July to 12 August in the Olympic Park. Preliminary rounds and the quarter-finals were held in the Copper Box while the semi-finals and final took place in the larger Basketball Arena. Medals were awarded in a men's tournament and a women's tournament. The gold medals were won by France (men) and Norway (women). Handball at the Summer Olympics refers to two different sports. Field handball was introduced for men at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, but dropped after that. At the 1952 Olympics, field handball was a demonstration sport. (Indoor) handball was introduced for men at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Women's handball competition was introduced at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. 2017–18 Women's EHF Champions League
The 2017–18 EHF Champions League was the 25th edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament. Győri ETO defended their title by defeating HC Vardar in the final. Competition format 16 teams participated in the competition, divided in four groups who played in a round robin, home and away format.
