Maja Aleksić
Maja Aleksić ( sr-cyrl, Маја Алексић; born 6 June 1997, Užice) is a Serbian volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker. She is currently a member of Serbian women's national volleyball team. Aleksić competed in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, and 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup. Aleksić was part of the Serbian women's national volleyball team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal. Užice ( sr-cyr, Ужице, ) is a city and the administrative centre of the Zlatibor District in western Serbia. It is located on the banks of the river Đetinja. The Women's European Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Italy, which won its third title at the 2021 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1949 with participation of seven national teams. The 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup was the 13th edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held from 14 to 29 September 2019 in Japan. The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the second edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual international women's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams. The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the fourth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual women's international volleyball tournament.
