Maj-Inger Klingvall
Maj-Inger Klingvall (born 15 May 1946) is a Swedish Social Democratic Party politician, who has served as a member of the Riksdag, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Minister for International Development Cooperation, and Minister for Migration. She was statsråd (a title for members of the Swedish government) from 1996 to 2002. Biography Klingvall was born in Nyköping to Sven Ohlsson and Elsa Karlsson, and married Rolf Klingvall in 1967. Klingvall became a bachelor of arts at Stockholm University in 1970 and a master's of social science degree at Linköping University in 1972. She worked as a secretary at Östergötland County Council 1973–1975 and then at Norrköping Municipality, in 1975–1976 as secretary and 1977–1985 as political secretary. The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs ( sv, Socialdepartementet) is the ministry in the government of Sweden responsible for policies related to social welfare: financial security, social services, medical and health care, health promotion and the rights of children and disabled people. Alva Myrdal
Alva Myrdal ( , ; née Reimer; 31 January 1902 – 1 February 1986) was a Swedish sociologist, diplomat and politician. She was a prominent leader of the disarmament movement. She, along with Alfonso García Robles, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1982. She married Gunnar Myrdal in 1924; he received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1974, making them the fourth ever married couple to have won Nobel Prizes (even if the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences is not actually a Nobel Prize), and the first to win independent of each other (versus a shared Nobel Prize by scientist spouses). The Social Democratic Women in Sweden ( sv, Sveriges socialdemokratiska kvinnoförbund ), or "S-women" ( ), is the women's wing of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. It was established in 1920 by representatives from 120 local Social Democratic women’s clubs from all over Sweden. At the time of its foundation, there had been local women's clubs of the Party since the foundation of the '' Stockholms allmänna kvinnoklubb'' in 1892, but there was no national women's club. War Delegation
The War Delegation ( sv, krigsdelegationen, or ''KD'') is a standing committee of the Riksdag, with its functions enumerated in the Instrument of Government and the Riksdag Act, with the purpose of replacing the Riksdag as a whole whenever Sweden is at war or is otherwise exposed to a serious threat or crisis. The War Delegation is chaired by the Speaker of the Riksdag and has fifty members who are elected following each general election, for a total of 51 members. The Delegation has roughly the same powers as the Riksdag, but may not call snap elections or suspend ordinary elections.
