Maintower
''maintower'' is the tabloid magazine of the Hessischer Rundfunk broadcast on hr-fernsehen from Monday to Friday at 6:00 pm. The 25-minute programme covers tabloid topics with a focus on crime and accidents as well as other police and fire brigade missions in and around Hessen. Production Up until 2015 it was broadcast from the Main Tower in Frankfurt am Main (the "highest television studio in Europe"). Due to the studio's closure for cost reasons, in autumn 2015, the programme has been broadcast from Hessischer Rundfunk's television ''Studio 5'' in the Funkhaus am Dornbusch in Frankfurt-Nordend using an elaborate virtual studio set with a computer-generated 3D skyline of Frankfurt. Main Tower
Main Tower is a 56-storey, skyscraper in the Innenstadt district of Frankfurt, Germany. It is named after the nearby Main river. The building is when its antenna spire is included. The tower has five underground floors and two public viewing platforms. It is the only skyscraper in Frankfurt with a public viewing observatory. It is the 4th tallest building in Frankfurt and the 4th tallest in Germany, tied with Tower 185. The foyer of the building has two art pieces accessible to the public: the video installation by Bill Viola "The World of Appearances" and the wall mosaic by Stephan Huber "''Frankfurter Treppe / XX. Hessischer Rundfunk (HR; "Hesse Broadcasting") is the German state of Hesse's public broadcasting, public broadcasting corporation. Sonya Kraus
Sonya Kraus (born 22 June 1973) is a German television presenter and former model. Biography Aged 4, Kraus started ballet school which eventually led her to music school in Frankfurt. She ended her ballet career in 1987 when she grew too tall, reaching at the time. In 1992, she finished her Abitur (university-entrance diploma) and started working as a professional model until 1994. Kraus's brother died when she was six years old. Broadcasting House Dornbusch ("''Funkhaus am Dornbusch''") is headquarters and main broadcasting facility of the German public broadcaster for the state of Hessen, Hessischer Rundfunk. History The site and the building were originally intended as the parliamentary building for German Bundestag. The plans for the round building ("Rundhaus") were developed in 1948 by architect Gerhard Weber. In anticipation for the German capital being moved to Frankfurt, building work had started. However, the parliamentary council voted for Bonn as new seat of government. While the shell of the building had been completed at this point, the plans were changed to re-dedicate the site as new seat for the regional broadcaster.
