Maine State Senate Election, 2018
The 2018 Maine State Senate elections took place as part of the biennial United States elections. Maine voters elected state senators in all 35 of the state senate's districts. State senators serve two-year terms in the State Senate. A primary election on June 12, 2018 determined which candidates appear on the November 6 general election ballot. Primary election results can be obtained from the Maine Secretary of State's website. Following the 2016 state Senate elections, Republicans maintained effective control of the House with 18 members. The Maine Secretary of State provides both a detailedescription of each Senate seatas well as maps for each district, including thistatewide Senate mapshowing all 35 Senate districts. Maine Senate
The Maine Senate is the upper house of the Maine Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Maine. The Senate currently consists of 35 members representing an equal number of districts across the state, though the Maine Constitution allows for "an odd number of Senators, not less than 31 nor more than 35". Unlike the lower House, the Senate does not set aside nonvoting seats for Native tribes. Because it is a part-time position, members of the Maine Senate usually have outside employment as well. The Senate meets at the Maine State House in Augusta. Members are limited to four consecutive terms with each term being two years but may run again after a two-year wait. Bradlee Thomas Farrin (born 1964) is an American politician from Maine. Farrin, a Republican, was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2014 (District 111). Dana Dow
Dana L. Dow is an American politician from Maine. Dow served as a Republican State Senator from Maine's 20th District, where he represented most of Lincoln County, including his residence in Waldoboro. He graduated from the first class of Medomak Valley High School in 1969. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine. He was first elected to the Maine State Senate in 2004. David Miramant
David Miramant (born May 22, 1955) is an American Democratic politician and pilot from Maine. He represents Senate District 12, Knox County, in the Maine Senate. Miramant served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2006-2008 and was first elected to the Senate in 2014. Miramant is a career pilot: He flew commercial Boeing 767s at Delta Air Lines and has owned and operated a glider ride service on coastal Maine since 2005. Stacey K. Guerin is an American politician from Maine. Guerin, a Republican, represents a portion of Penobscot County, Maine, including her residence in Glenburn, Maine, in the Maine Senate. Kimberley Clark Rosen (born October 8, 1958) is an American politician from Maine. A Republican, Rosen represented the towns of Orrington and her residence in Bucksport in the Maine House of Representatives from 2004 to 2012, when she was unable to run for re-election due to term-limits. Louis Luchini
Louis Luchini (born May 24, 1981) is an American Democratic politician and former professional long-distance runner from Maine. Luchini served in the Maine Senate representing District 7, Hancock County from 2018 to 2022. Luchini was born and raised in Ellsworth, Maine and began running competitively in middle school. He was a state champion runner at Ellsworth High School and continued to Stanford University where he earned a degree in human biology and was an all-American runner. Brian Langley is an American politician, restaurant owner and schoolteacher from Maine. Langley was a Republican State Senator from Maine's 28th District, representing much of Hancock County, including the population centers of Bar Harbor and Ellsworth.
