State Route 32 (abbreviated SR 32) is part of Maine's system of numbered state highways, located in the southern coastal part of the state. It runs from an intersection with SR 130 in Bristol north to Windsor where it ends at U.S. Route 202 (US 202), SR 100, and SR 137 Business. Route description SR 32 begins at an intersection with SR 130 about north of Pemaquid Point (the southernmost point of Bristol and SR 130). The route meanders north for almost , through the eastern side of town, along Muscongus Bay, and through the small town of Bremen without any major intersections. Bristol, known from 1632 to 1765 as Pemaquid (; today a village within the town) is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,834 at the 2020 census. It is a major regional route running for from an intersection with State Route 4 in Oquossoc to an intersection with U.S. Route 1 and U.S. Route 1A in Rockland. Pemaquid Point Light
The Pemaquid Point Light is a historic U.S. lighthouse located in Bristol, Lincoln County, Maine, at the tip of the Pemaquid Neck. History The lighthouse was commissioned in 1827 by President John Quincy Adams and built that year. Because of poor workmanship (salt water was used in the mortar mix), the lighthouse began to crumble and was replaced in 1835. The second contract for the construction stipulated that only fresh water be used. Keeper Isaac Dunham oversaw the construction and wrote in a letter to the US Lighthouse Establishment that the agreement was upheld and the work went well. The original light was an Argand-Lewis parabolic reflector, lit with candles and with a visibility of . Augustin Fresnel invented a superior way of focusing light in the early 1850s and most lighthouses in the US were converted to the Fresnel Lens, with Pemaquid Point receiving a fourth order Fresnel in 1856. State Route 100 (SR 100) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maine, running from Portland to Bangor. The south end of SR 100 is at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Cumberland Avenue in downtown Portland. Its north end is at the intersection of Hammond Street, Main Street, State Street and Central Street in downtown Bangor; SR 100 runs along Hammond Street with U.S. Route 2 (US 2) which continues across Main Street/Central Street onto State Street. State Route 139 (SR 139) is a state highway traveling from U.S. Route 2 (US 2) and US 201 in Norridgewock at its western terminus to US 1A in Winterport at its eastern terminus. Route description SR 139 begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 201A, U.S. Route 2, and SR 8 in Norridgewock. The intersection of SR 139 and U.S. Route 2 is notorious for being one of the most dangerous intersections in central Maine. State Route 137 (SR 137) is a route that runs for west to east that begins at the intersection of U.S. Route 2 (US 2) in Mercer and covers a large expanse of land, ending in the city of Belfast at an interchange with US 1 and SR 3. SR 137 is the main road in the communities of Smithfield and Oakland, near the western terminus of the route. SR 137 bypasses the downtown area of Waterville while SR 137 Business travels directly through it.
