Main Court Building
The Main Court Building is an office building in Buffalo, New York located on the corner of Main Street and Court Street across the Buffalo Metro Rail from Lafayette Square. It is and stands 13 floors high. The tower is located across Court Street from the Liberty Building. History The building was built in 1963 to serve as the Western Savings Bank headquarters. Delaware North purchased the property in 1990 and moved its headquarters there, later leaving in 1999 for 40 Fountain Plaza. The building changed hands in July 2001 and again in late 2014. The building is currently owned by Main Street Buffalo Properties, LP and managed by Priam Enterprises, LLC. Buffalo Metro Rail is the public transit rail system in Buffalo, New York, operated by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA). Lafayette Square, Buffalo
Lafayette Square (formerly Court House Park or Courthouse Square) is a park in the center of downtown Buffalo, Erie County, New York, United States that hosts a Civil War monument. The block, which was once square, is lined by many of the city's tallest buildings. The square was named for General Lafayette, who visited Buffalo in 1825. The square was part of the original urban plan for the city as laid out by Joseph Ellicott in 1804. Its eastern edge has long been defined by important civic structures; first, the Erie County Courthouse, followed by the original Buffalo & Erie County Public Library. The Liberty Building is located at 420 Main Street, across the Buffalo Metro Rail from Lafayette Square in Buffalo, New York, USA. History Built in 1925, the 23 story office tower is an example of neoclassical architecture. At the time of its completion, the Liberty Building was the largest office building in downtown Buffalo and was built for Liberty National Bank to serve as their headquarters. Liberty National Bank was originally called the German American Bank but its name was changed to Liberty National Bank after World War I to remove any connection to that war's main enemy. In order to illustrate the bank's new image, the building was christened with three replicas of the Statue of Liberty sculpted by Leo Lentelli in 1925. 40 Fountain Plaza, formerly Key Center South Tower, is a high-rise located in Buffalo, NY. It stands 225 feet (69 m) and 13 stories tall. The building has a twin tower next door, 50 Fountain Plaza (formerly Key Center North Tower), which is four stories taller, and connected by a two-story glass atrium encompassing 18,800 square feet of retail space.
