The Main building (german: Hauptgebäude der Universität Wien, commonly shortened to ''Hauptuni'') is the central headquarters of the University of Vienna, it is located in the first district of Vienna and faces the so called ''Universitätsring''. It was designed by Heinrich Ferstel and built in 1873. History Duke Rudolph IV established the University of Vienna March 12, 1365. Camden Free Public Library Main Building
The Camden Free Public Library Main Building is the first former main library of the Camden, New Jersey public library system. Designed by Herbert D. Hale and Henry G. Morse, the building was constructed with a grant from the Carnegie Corporation and opened in 1905. It closed in 1986 with the relocation of the library's main branch to the former South Jersey Gas, Electric and Traction Company Office Building. In 1992, the building was placed on the state and national registers of historic places. The building has fallen into state of serious disrepair. In 2003, funding was found for its stabilization, with the hope that it would be preserved and re-used. The city's once extensive library system has been beleaguered by financial difficulties. In 2010, it threatened to close but was incorporated by the county library system. Nonetheless, the main branch did close in February 2011. Lander College Old Main Building
Lander College Old Main Building is a historic academic building located on the campus of Lander University at Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina. It is a large masonry building, composed of three distinct sections with a blending of elements of the Romanesque Revival and Georgian Revival styles. Two of the sections, Greenwood Hall and Laura Lander Hall, were built in 1903-04; Willson Hall was added in 1911. It is the earliest Lander College building. The tower serves as a focal point for the building and defines its character as a school building. The Main Building School, on Sugartree St. in Wilmington, Ohio, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Main Building, Mitchell College is a historic building located on the campus of Mitchell Community College at Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. It was built in 1854–1856, and is a three-story stuccoed brick building with a heroic hexastyle Doric order portico in the Greek Revival style. It is T-shaped in plan, 13 bays wide and 3 bays deep, with a five-bay-deep and three-bay-wide wing. Atop the roof is an octagonal wooden cupola. An east wing, Shearer Music Hall, was added to the structure in 1907. Peace College Main Building
Peace College Main Building is the focal point of the Peace College campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built between 1859 and 1862, Main Building is located at the northern end of Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh and is considered one of the largest antebellum buildings surviving in the city. During its early history, Main Building was used as a military hospital and offices for the Freedmen's Bureau. The building now contains offices, parlors, banquet rooms, and dormitory residences. The Main Building of Vassar College is the oldest surviving building on its campus in Poughkeepsie, New York, and the center of academic life. It was built by James Renwick, Jr. in the Second Empire style in 1861, the second building in the history of what was one of America's first women's colleges. It is one of the earliest, largest, and most important examples of Second Empire architecture in the United States and is a National Historic Landmark for its architecture and educational significance. At the time of its completion, the structure contained the most interior space of any building in the United States, and housed the entire college, including dormitories, libraries, classrooms, and dining halls. Hudson River State Hospital, Main Building
The Hudson River State Hospital is a former New York state psychiatric hospital which operated from 1873 until its closure in the early 2000s. The campus is notable for its main building, known as a "Kirkbride," which has been designated a National Historic Landmark due to its exemplary High Victorian Gothic architecture, the first use of that style for an American institutional building. and It is located on US 9 on the Poughkeepsie-Hyde Park town line.
