Maikulan
The Maikulan were an indigenous Australian people of the state of Queensland. They have sometimes been confused with the Maithakari. Name According to an earlier resident of the area, the tribal autonym referred to the native brushturkey. Iffley Station
Iffley Station is a pastoral lease that currently operates as a cattle station in Queensland. Description The property is situated approximately south of Normanton and north of Julia Creek in the Gulf Country of Queensland. The property is composed of rolling downs grassed with Mitchell grass, bluegrass, salt bush and other herbages. Normanton, Queensland
Normanton is an outback town and coastal locality in the Shire of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia. In the the locality of Normanton had a population of 1,257 people, of whom 750 (60%) identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, while the town of Normanton had a population of 1,210 people, of whom 743 (62%) identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Canobie Station
Canobie Station, often just referred to as Canobie, is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station. It is located about north of Cloncurry and south west of Croydon in Queensland. The property occupies an area of of Queensland's Gulf Country and is able to carry a herd of approximately 35,000 gulf-composite cattle. It is currently owned by the Australian Agricultural Company. The area is made up of black soil plains like much of the Gulf Country; the Georgina basement rocks are overlaid with sediments of the Carpentaria basin. The Cloncurry river and many of its smaller tributaries are situated within the boundaries of the property and make excellent watering points for the stock. The Gregory River (Waanyi: Ngumarryina) is a river located in the Northern Territory and the state of Queensland, Australia. The river is the largest perennial river in arid and semi-arid Queensland, one of the few permanently flowing rivers in the northwest of Queensland. Gregory Range
The Gregory Range is a mountain range located in Far North Queensland, Australia. Location and features Part of the Great Dividing Range, the Gregory Range lies southeast of and southwest of . The range is located in an area of ephemeral watercourses and stony sandstone ridges lightly vegetated with Eucalyptus miniata, acacia and spinifex on the ridge tops. Further down the ridges areas of paperbark are found. The range extends approximately in an east–west direction. The southern portion forms an undulating sandstone and basalt plateau. The sandstone is of the Jurassic age (180-160 million years) while the basalt and granite dates from the Mesoproterozoic age (1.6 - 1.0 billion years).
