Maikol Benassi
Maikol Benassi (born 26 November 1989) is an Italian footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serie D club Siracusa. Club career Viareggio Born in Viareggio, the Province of Lucca, Benassi started his career at Lucca team Lucchese. After the team was expelled from professional league, he was signed by Serie B team Empoli, but farmed to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione side Viareggio in a co-ownership deal, rejoining Lucchese team-mate Leonardo Massoni and Luca Ruglioni. In the first season he only played 9 times. He followed the team promoted to Lega Pro Prima Divisione as some teams were expelled from professional league, thus Viareggio was selected to fill the vacancies. He became a regular starter that season, replacing departed Massoni, and also played both legs of relegation play-offs, partnered with Lorenzo Fiale. Viareggio
Viareggio () is a city and ''comune'' in northern Tuscany, Italy, on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. With a population of over 62,000, it is the second largest city within the province of Lucca, after Lucca. It is known as a seaside resort as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio (dating back to 1873), and its papier-mâché floats, which (since 1925), parade along the promenade known as "Passeggiata a mare", in the weeks of Carnival. The province of Lucca ( it, provincia di Lucca) is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Lucca. It has an area of and a total population of about 390,000. Fabrizio Anzalone (born 24 July 1978) is an Italian former footballer. He played over 140 games in Serie C1 and over 110 games in Serie C2. He only briefly played in Serie B in 2006–07 season. Biography Early career Born in Genoa, Liguria, Anzalone started his career at Genoa C.F.C. He made his Serie B debut on 13 April 1997, replacing Filippo Masolini in the final minutes. Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Biography Born in Pietrasanta, the Province of Lucca, Massoni started his career at Lucca team Lucchese. He spent 2 seasons loaned to Viareggio in 2006–07 and 2007–08 season, winning Serie D and remain in Serie C2 by winning the relegation playoffs in 2008. Co-ownership (football)
Co-ownership is a system whereby two football clubs own the contract of a player jointly, although the player is only registered to play for one club. It is not a universal system, but is used in some countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It was formerly commonplace in Italy, though the practice has now been abolished there. This type of deal differs from third-party ownership, in that in the latter, the player's contract is owned by a non-footballing entity, such as a management company. Italy Co-ownership deals were common in Italian football, before being banned at the end of the 2014–15 season.
