Ben Maidment
Ben Maidment (born 28 May 1988) is an English rugby union player from Cuckfield, West Sussex. He currently plays for Jersey as a Number 8. Personal life Maidment was educated at Brighton College and the University of Cambridge, where he studied Economics and Land Economy. His brother Max also plays rugby professionally. Club career Maidment started playing rugby at Haywards Heath RFC while living in Sussex. He played in their colts team as well as making the senior 1st XV. He played for Haywards Heath in National League 3 London & SE. When he was 16, he was selected to play for Sussex. While playing underage rugby at Haywards Heath he also played for Brighton College. While at university, Maidment was signed by London Wasps as part of a link-up with the University of Cambridge in 2010. He played for London Wasps in their rugby sevens team and their "A" team. Charlie Maidment
Charles Maidment (1844–1926) was a British jockey, prominent in the early 1870s. He was joint British Champion jockey in two successive years, 1870 and 1871, although is generally regarded as inferior to other jockeys of the time such as George Fordham and Tom Cannon, Sr. Besides his Championships, his main achievement was winning the Fillies' Triple Crown on Hannah in 1871. He mainly rode for trainer Joseph Hayhoe and his major owners, Baron Meyer de Rothschild and Alexander and Hector Baltazzi. He retired in 1891 and was forced by financial circumstance to ride out for Newmarket stables until old age. Colin Hyde Maidment
Colin Hyde Maidment (1908–1955) was an Irish badminton player, national men's doubles and mixed champion in the 1930s, sporting administrator, and honorary secretary of the Badminton Union of Ireland. Early and personal life Colin Hyde Maidment was born on 29 May 1908 to Everett Edwin Maidment, a commercial traveller, and Harriet Isabel Maidment (née Hyde). In 1943, he married Barbara B. Cresswell in St Patrick's Church of Ireland, Dalkey, with whom he had three children. Maidment's only son, Colin John Hyde Maidment, a student of Trinity College Dublin, died in an accident in 1970 at the age of 21, with his motorcycle being found by the Cliffs of Moher. A solicitor by profession, Maidmont was a partner in the Dublin legal firm of Messrs Longfield, Jameson and Hamilton at the time of his death in 1955. Cyril Maidment (1929-2004) was an international speedway rider from England. Speedway career Maidment reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on two occasions in the 1961 Individual Speedway World Championship and the 1964 Individual Speedway World Championship.
