Maiden UniteD
Maiden uniteD is an acoustic project. Musicians from different bands join together to play an all-acoustic tribute to English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The songs are played with new arrangements. About In 2006, Joey Bruers was asked to perform a tribute at a convention for the Dutch Iron Maiden fan club in Dynamo, Eindhoven. Together with several musicians he played a set of acoustic Iron Maiden songs. Steve Harris (musician), Steve Harris attended the convention and gave the band ‘two thumbs up’. There were a few more shows like this and then he started to write new acoustic arrangements for a series of songs with Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation). They began to search for musicians to record these songs and on 9 December 2010 their first album was released; ''Mind the Acoustic Pieces'', an all-acoustic reinterpretation of Iron Maiden’s classic album Piece of Mind. Blaze Bayley (born Bayley Alexander Cooke, 29 May 1963) is an English heavy metal singer. He was the lead singer of Wolfsbane from 1984 to 1994 (and currently since 2010, following reunions in 2007 and 2009). He was also the lead singer of Iron Maiden during Bruce Dickinson's absence from 1994 to 1999. Since then, he has pursued a solo career and has released ten studio albums. Early life Bayley was born Bayley Alexander Cooke in Birmingham on 29 May 1963. Devin Townsend
Devin Garrett Townsend (born May 5, 1972) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He founded extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad and was its primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from 1994 to 2007. He has also had an extensive solo career and has released a total of 28 albums across all of his projects as of 2022. After performing in a number of heavy metal bands in high school, Townsend was discovered in 1993 by a record label who asked him to perform lead vocals on Steve Vai's album ''Sex & Religion''. The Gathering is a Dutch rock band, founded in 1989 by brothers Hans and René Rutten and vocalist Bart Smits in Oss, North Brabant. The Gathering earliest releases were categorized as atmospheric doom metal with influences from extreme metal acts like Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. Stef Broks
Stef Broks (born 1 May 1981 in Etten-Leur, Netherlands) is a Dutch drummer best known for his work with Textures. He is known for playing rock and metal with a fusion touch and an extensive use of polyrhythms. He also had success with the fusion band Exivious, playing on their first album. However, after the band reformed in 2011 and became a full-time band, Broks left citing that he simply couldn't find reasonable time to commit to two full-time bands. He was replaced by Yuma van Eekelen, who left Pestilence to join Exivious. Broks currently teaches at the Herman Brood Academy and Het Popstation in Utrecht and the Metal Factory in Eindhoven. Landmarq (pronounced like "landmark") are a British neo-progressive rock band. Since forming in 1990, they have so far released a total of ten albums, four of which were recorded live at various concerts in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, plus two full concert DVDs. Headspace (band)
Headspace are an English progressive metal band formed in 2006 by keyboardist Adam Wakeman with former Threshold singer Damian Wilson. Wakeman is also keyboardist in Ozzy Osbourne's band. Their first release, an EP entitled ''I Am...'' coincided with their support shows with Osbourne on the European Leg of the Black Rain tour in 2007. Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Threshold (band)
Threshold are an English progressive metal band formed in Surrey in the late 1980s. History 1988–1992 Threshold began their career in 1988, initially playing covers of metal groups like Ratt and Testament. As they continued playing together, they began to write their own songs, and eventually stopped playing covers altogether. Barry Graham Purkis, more commonly known as Thunderstick (born 7 December 1954), is an English drummer who wore various masks and used to perform on-stage closed in a cage. He was in the cult-band Samson (band), Samson, with whom his name is most associated.
