Mahmudul Islam
Mahmudul Islam (24 July 1936 – 16 February 2016) was a senior lawyer of Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He served as the 10th Attorney General of Bangladesh. Early life and education Islam was born in Rangpur in 1936 to Azizul Islam, a lawyer and Jahanara Islam. Mahmudul passed his HSC examination from Carmichael College. He completed his bachelor's and master's in political science in 1957 and LLB degree in 1959 from the University of Dhaka. He later received his LLM degree from Indiana University in 1980. Career Islam started his career at Rangpur Bar in 1961, and later got enlisted at the High Court in 1967. He worked as a junior with lawyer Birendra Nath Chowdhury and then with Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed (16 January 1932 – 12 July 2003) was a Bangladeshi lawyer and constitutionalist. Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed
Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed (16 January 1932 – 12 July 2003) was a Bangladeshi lawyer and constitutionalist. He was a former attorney general of Bangladesh. He served as an adviser of law to the non-party caretaker government in two successive terms. Background and education Ahmed and his family were originated from Ghazipur in present-day Uttar Pradesh, India. He had four elder brothers and one younger one. He got his elementary education in Ramanath High English School in Hili, Dakshin Dinajpur where his father, Syed Zafar Ahmed, had a business. He also studied in Calcutta Madrasa in Kolkata, West Bengal. Ahmed passed the matriculation and intermediate exam from Mymensingh Zilla School in 1948 and Dhaka College in 1950 respectively. Rangpur City
Rangpur (, ; bn, রংপুর , Rongpur, City of Colour) is one of the major cities in Bangladesh and Rangpur Division. Rangpur was declared a district headquarters on December 16, 1769, and established as a municipality in 1869, making it one of the oldest municipalities in Bangladesh. The municipal office building was erected in 1892 under the precedence Raja Janaki Ballav, Senior Chairman of the municipality.
