Mahendra Narayan Nidhi
Mahendra Narayan Nidhi (24 February 1922 – 4 May 1999) was a Nepali politician, democracy fighter, and Gandhian leader. He was the Minister of water resources and local development in the Interim government led by Krishna Prasad Bhattarai after the success of 1990 Nepalese revolution. He was one of the most influential leaders and General Secretary of Nepali Congress. He started his active political journey from Dhanusha in 1946. Nidhi was elected twice to the parliament, in 1959 and 1991. He was the first deputy speaker of Pratinidhi Sabha of Nepal. Nidhi had started Rajeshwor Nidhi Higher Secondary School during the Rana period in Nagrain, Dhanusha. Personal life Nidhi was born in 1922 in Nagarain, Dhanusha. Rastra Gaurav Man Padavi
Rastra Gaurav Man Padavi ( ne, राष्ट्र गौरव मानपदवी, ''Order of the National Pride'') is the second highest civilian award of the Nepal. Instituted in 2010, the award is conferred for contribution to the nation. History Order of Tri Shakti Patta was instituted by King Tribhuvan of Nepal in on 27 November 1937. It had 5 classes plus a medal. First Class was Jyotirmaya-Subikhyat-Tri-Shakti-Patta, Second Class was Subikhyat-Tri-Shakti-Patta, Third Class was Bikhyat-Tri-Shakti-Patta, Fourth Class was Prakhyat-Tri-Shakti-Patta, Fifth Class was Tri-Shakti-Patta and there was a medal Tri-Shakti-Patta-Padak. After the end of monarchy in 2008, the new government introduced a new series of awards. "Nepal Ratna Man Padavi" is the highest class whereas Rastra Gaurav Man Padavi is second highest. 1991 Nepalese Legislative Election
General elections were held in Nepal on 12 May 1991, to elect 205 members to the House of Representatives. The elections were the first multi-party elections since 1959. The 1990 Nepalese revolution successfully made King Birendra to restore a multi-party system after King Mahendra had established the Rastriya Panchayat when he dissolved the parliament in December 1960. Results Aftermath Following the result of the election, Nepali Congress came to power and Girija Prasad Koirala became Prime Minister. The house met for the first time in May 1991. Daman Nath Dhungana served as the Speaker of the House. The parliament could not complete its full five-year term with Girija Prasad Koirala asking King Birendra to dissolve the house in July 1994 after losing a no-confidence motion with some member of his own party voting against him.
