Mahe Vailanu
Mahe Vailanu (born 10 January 1997) is a Tongan Australians, Tongan Australian rugby union player who plays for the NSW Waratahs in Super Rugby Pacific. He previously played for the in the Super Rugby competition. His position of choice is Rugby union positions, hooker. Vailanu started his Australian career in Melbourne, with the Harlequins Rugby club, winning the 2017 Dewar Shield for the season. Since 2018, Vailanu has played under head coach Darren Coleman. He followed Coleman from the Warringah Rats to the Gordon RFC, Gordon Highlanders in 2019, then to the LA Giltinis in 2021 and NSW Waratahs in 2022, having won premierships with the Rats, Highlanders and Giltinis. The New South Wales Rugby Union, or NSWRU, is the governing body for the sport of rugby union within most of the state of New South Wales in Australia. It is a member and founding union of Rugby Australia. Within Australia it is considered the strongest Union. It has the largest player base, biggest population, most suburban clubs, and the oldest running club rugby competition in the country. The southern areas of New South Wales encompassing the Monaro, Far South Coast, and Southern Inland unions are not affiliated with the NSWRU. They are now within the ACT and Southern NSW Rugby Union. The New South Wales Rugby Union was founded in 1874 as the ''Southern Rugby Union'', before changing to the present name in 1893.
