Mahbubur Rob Sadi
Dewan Mahbubur Rob Sadi Chaudhuri (10 May 1942 - 17 October 2016) () was a Bangladesh Liberation War, 1971 Liberation War veteran and war hero who valiantly led the Jalalpur sub-sector (sector 4) as Sub-Sector Commander of the Mukti Bahini, Bangladesh Liberation Army (Bengali language, Bengali: মুক্তি বাহিনী) under Sector Commander Chitta Ranjan Dutta, Maj Gen C. R. Datta. Sadi was awarded Bir Protik (Bengali language, Bengali: বীর প্রতীক; Symbol of Bravery or Idol of Courage) on 15 December 1973 for demonstration of personal acts of valor during the War. He was elected Member of the Parliament in 1979. Besides being a freedom fighter and politician, Sadi was also a singer, poet, columnist and songwriter. Nabiganj ( bn, নবীগঞ্জ, Nobīgonj) is an Upazila of Habiganj District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh. History After the Conquest of Gour in 1303, many disciples of Shah Jalal migrated and settled in present-day Nabiganj where they preached Islam to the local people. Shah Sikandar migrated to Paschimgaon (Sikandarpur), Hafiz Muhammad Zakariyyah Arabi to Pithua, Shah Sadruddin Qurayshi to Parbatpur (Sadrabad) and Qazi Tajuddin Qurayshi to Chouki. In the late 17th century, Inathganj Bazar was founded. Inathganj became a centre for the Asian Jute trade. The current Inathganj High School was originally a jute warehouse.
