Mahbubur Rahman (politician)
Mahbubur Rahman (5 January 1940 – 27 March 2021) was a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician. Career Rahman was a leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He was a member of Jatiyo Sangshad, parliament for Noakhali-3 constituency. He served as 4 time MP and 9 years as Minister in 9 Ministries including Education Minister under Hussain Muhammad Ershad cabinet from 1986 to 1988. He switched from Bangladesh Nationalist Party to Jatiya Party (Ershad) in 2008. Rahman is the vice-chairperson of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute. Rahman died of COVID-19 in 2021. Personal life Rahman had 4 sons and 2 daughters. His daughter Farah Mahbub (judge), Farah Mahbub has followed him into law, and eventually she became justice of Dhaka High Court. References

Mahbubur Rahman (cricketer)
Mahbubur Rahman (born 1 February 1969) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in one One Day International in 1999. In the 1980s Mymensingh was a great hub for producing cricketing talent in Bangladesh. Mahbubur Rahman, also known as Selim, was one of the finest talents to come from there. A right-handed middle order batsman, he occasionally bowled spin as well. In the 1989 Under-19 Asia Cup, he scored 40 against Sri Lanka and 28 against Pakistan. Unfortunately he took too long to make the transformation to the senior team. Mahbubur Rahman Sufil ( bn, মাহবুবুর রহমান সুফিল) is a Bangladeshi professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bangladesh Premier League club Brothers Union and the Bangladesh national team. He began his professional league career with Arambagh KS in the Bangladesh Premier League. He was the captain of the club for 2017–2018 season. Club career Arambagh KS Sufil joined Arambagh KS for the 2016 Bangladesh Premier League. He was the captain of the club during the 2017–18 season. Mahbubur Rahman is a retired lieutenant general of the Bangladesh Army who served as the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from May 1996 to December 1997.
