Mahayagya
''Mahaygya'' is an Indian television show broadcast on Sony TV in 1997–1998. Written, produced and directed by Anil Chaudhary, the political drama starred Manohar Singh, Rohini Hattangadi, Goving Namdeo, supported by Ananya Khare, Murali Sharma, Kumud Mishra and others. Premise Set in the small central-Indian town, the story unfolds with an average, politically inexperienced but practical and shrewd woman, Vimla Pandey (Rohini Hattangadi) winning the Parliament election, defeating seasoned politician Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh (Manohar Singh). Vimla Pandey is on the warpath to settle old dues with the Thakur. Anil Chaudhary (filmmaker)
Anil Chaudhary is an Indian director, producer and screenwriter. He is the maker of notable television shows such as Mahayagya (1997), Phatichar (1991), Kabeer (1986) and Gunwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (2009). He is credited with writing television shows such as Karamchand, Nukkad and Rajani. He also authored and directed numerous theatre plays one of which is 'Chopra Kamaal Naukar Jamal' that was adapted from Bertolt Brecht's play 'Mr. Puntila and his man Matti'. Personal life Anil was born in 1950 in Dholpur, Rajasthan. After studying at Kishori Raman (P.G.) college in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh he moved to Delhi and attended the National School of Drama where he obtained a diploma in direction. Rohini Hattangadi
Rohini Hattangadi (''née'' Oak; born 11 April 1955) is an Indian actress, known for her work in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, and Gujarati films, and Marathi soap operas and theatre. She has won two Filmfare Awards, one National Film Award, and is the only Indian actress to win the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Kasturba Gandhi in ''Gandhi'' (1982). An alumna of the National School of Drama of New Delhi, Hattangadi had worked mainly in theatre when she made her movie debut with ''Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan'' in 1978. Govind Namdev
Govind Namdev (born 3 September 1954) is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi films. Namdev made his debut as a corrupt cop in David Dhawan's ''Shola Aur Shabnam (1992 film), Shola Aur Shabnam'' (1992). He has acted in numerous movies, often as a villain. Manohar Singh
Manohar Singh (12 April 1938 – 14 November 2002) was an Indian theatre actor-director and character actor in Hindi films. He is best known for his performances in films such as ''Party'' (1984) and ''Daddy'' (1989). Starting his acting career from theatre, he went on to become a theatre director and later the chief of National School of Drama Repertory Company, 1976 to 1988, before switching to cinema. As a theatre actor his best known performances were in ''Tughlaq'', directed by Ebrahim Alkazi; ''Himmat Mai'' and ''Begum Barve'' by Nissar and Amal Allana.
