Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman
The awards of Certificate of Honour and Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman are Indian Presidential honours which are conferred on academics by the President of India once a year on the Indian Independence Day, celebrated on 15 August; in recognition of their substantial contribution in the various fields of languages including Arabic, Kannada, Sanskrit, Malayalam, Oriya, Pali, Persian, Prakrit and the Telugu language. The awards come under the umbrella of the language division of the Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education. The award takes its name from Bādarāyaṇa, the founder of the Vedanta system of Philosophy, who wrote the Vedāntasūtra k.a. Brahmasūtra. Bādarāyaṇa
Badarayana (IAST Bādarāyaṇa; Devanāgari बादरायण) was an Indian philosopher and sage who was the reputed author of ''Brahma Sutras'', the source text for the Hindu philosophical school of Vedānta. Estimates of his lifetime vary very widely from around fifth century BCE to third or fourth century CE. His work ''Brahma Sutras'' is variously dated from 500 BCE to 450 CE. The Brahma Sutras of Bādarāyana, also called the ''Vedanta Sutra'', was compiled in its present form around 400–450 CE, but "the great part of the ''Sutra'' must have been in existence much earlier than that". Estimates of the date of Bādarāyana's lifetime differ between 200 BCE and 200 CE. DD News
DD News is an Indian news channel of Doordarshan, it is India's only 24-hour terrestrial TV news channel broadcasting solely in Hindi, and formerly in English. The Prasar Bharati Board approved the proposal to start a 24-hour news channel in place of DD Metro, which was closing. This was subsequently approved by the Union Cabinet in a meeting held on 3 October 2003. DD Metro was converted into a 24-hour TV news channel, into DD News, which launched on 3 November 2003. Its terrestrial reach is 21.6% by area and 44.9% by population of India. In 2019, international sister channel DD India become exclusive channel for English News and Current Affairs from Doordarshan. After that parent body Prasar Bharati's CEO claimed that DD News will be "100% Hindi soon", but is yet to be implemented because of availability of content to be aired. Balram Shukla
Balram Shukla ( hi, बलराम शुक्ल; born 19 January 1982) is an academician, poet and author based in New Delhi. He is a self-taught scholar of Sanskrit and Indian literature. He works as a professor of Sanskrit at the University of Delhi. He is a scholar of Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Persian and Prakrit. He writes poetry in both Sanskrit and Persian, and also translates Persian poetry into Sanskrit using the same poetic metres. He has been awarded the Badrayan Vyas Award for Sanskrit in 2013 by the President of India. He has authored eight books. Life Shukla hails from Sohrauna Raja village in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. His father is a retired school teacher. His initial education was at Maharajganj. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gorakhpur and Master of Arts degrees in Sanskrit and Persian from University of Delhi. Sampadananda Mishra
Sampadananda Mishra ( or, ସମ୍ପଦାନନ୍ଦ ମିଶ୍ର, born 17 November 1971) is a Sanskrit scholar from Odisha, specializing in grammar. Mishra was awarded the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Award for Sanskrit in 2012 by the President of India Pratibha Patil. He was conferred with Sahitya Akademi Bala Puraskar 2018 for his book ''Shanaih Shanaih''. Education and career Grandson of a Sanskrit Pandit, Mishra received a post-graduate degree in Sanskrit from Utkal University. He received an MPhil in Sanskrit Grammar from under V. Kutumba Sastry of Pondicherry University and completed his doctorate from Utkal University on Sanskrit and the evolution of human speech. Central Institute Of Classical Tamil
The Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) is a body established by the Government of India with a view to promoting the cause of Classical Tamil. It is located in Chennai. History The CICT was formerly known as the Centre of Excellence for Classical Tamil (CECT) and had been functioning at the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, a branch of the Department of Higher Education, Language Bureau, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Tamil (; ' , ) is a Dravidian language natively spoken by the Tamil people of South Asia.
