''Maharshi'' () is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinema. It stars Mahesh Babu, Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was released on 9 May 2019. ''Maharshi'' received mixed reviews from critics. Although cast performances, action sequences, plot, emotional quotient and technical aspects were praised, the film was criticized for its predictable and lengthy narrative. With a worldwide gross of 175–200 crore worldwide, ''Maharshi'' is the third highest grossing Telugu film of 2019 and one of the highest-grossing Telugu films. Vamshi Paidipally
Paidipally Vamshidhar Rao (born 27 July 1979), better known as Vamshi Paidipally, is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works primarily in Telugu cinema. He is best known for directing mainstream film works such as '' Munna'' (2007), '' Brindavanam'' (2010), ''Yevadu'' (2014), ''Oopiri'' (2016), and ''Maharshi'' (2019). Paidipally has won a National Film Award for ''Maharshi''. Early life Vamshi Paidipally was born on 27 July 1979 in Khanapur of Adilabad district, Telangana. South Indian International Movie Awards, also known as the SIIMA Awards, rewards the artistic and technical achievements of the South Indian film industry.
