Magnus Karlsson (speedway Rider)
Magnus Erik Karlsson (born 28 December 1981) is a Swedish international motorcycle speedway rider who rides in the Premier League in the UK for the Leicester Lions. Family His two older brothers, Peter Karlsson and Mikael Max are both former Speedway Grand Prix riders.Bamford, R.(2007). ''Speedway Yearbook 2007''. All three brothers represented Sweden in the 2007 Speedway World Cup, with Magnus riding at reserve. Career Magnus had a successful start to his UK career. He first rode in the Premier League in 2002 with the Edinburgh Monarchs, but it was in 2003 he was part of the Premier League Championship winning team. In 2004 he moved on to the Hull Vikings, and was part of the team that won the League Championship, KO Cup and Young Shield treble. Magnus decided to join his brother Peter at Elite League Wolverhampton Wolves in 2005 where he recorded a 5.58 average in his debut season, including a paid maximum. Gullspång
Gullspång is a locality and one of two seats of the Gullspång Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. As of 2010 it had 1,167 inhabitants. History Gullspång provided the name for a new municipality created through the local government reform of 1971, but the administration was placed in the more centrally located Hova, with just some minor offices in Gullspång. The 2007 Speedway World Cup (SWC) was the 7th FIM Speedway World Cup season. The Final took place on July 21, 2007 in the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium in Leszno, Poland. The tournament was won by host team Poland (55 pts) and they beat defending champion Denmark (52 pts), Australia (29 pts) and Great Britain (15 pts) in the Final. Speedway World Cup
The Speedway World Cup is an annual motorcycle speedway, speedway event held each year in different countries. The first edition of the competition in the current format was held in 2001 and replaced the old Speedway World Team Cup, World Team Cup which ran from 1960 until 2000. The last edition was in 2017. From 2018, the World Cup was replaced by the Speedway of Nations, which effectively brought back the pairs format. However, in 2023 the World Cup will return. Format The final tournament usually lasted for about a week with four meetings held in six or seven days. It started with two first round "events", each consisting of four national teams. The winners of these events qualified automatically for the final, while those who finished second and third competed in the race-off. Last place finishers were eliminated.
