Magne Hagen
Magne Hagen (born 25 January 1938) is a retired Norwegian royal servant. Biography Hagen started with a military career, and held the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was first hired in the Royal Court in 1974, as an aide-de-camp of King Olav V. He became private secretary in 1979. When Olav V died in 1991 and was replaced with Harald V, Hagen continued as private secretary. In the beginning of that year, it was noted that the entire court of the Norwegian royal family comprised as little as nine people: Hagen, Ingvald M. Smith-Kielland, Kaare Langlete, Ingegjerd Løvenskiold, Gunerius Flakstad and Barbara Iliff. Hagen remained in his position until his retirement on 1 February 2000. Two days later he was summoned to a private audience with the king and queen, where he was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav, a rare decoration for non-royals. Olav V Of Norway
Olav V (; born Prince Alexander of Denmark; 2 July 1903 – 17 January 1991) was the King of Norway from 1957 until his death in 1991. Olav was the only child of King Haakon VII of Norway and Maud of Wales. He became heir apparent to the Norwegian throne when his father was elected King of Norway in 1905. He was the first heir to the Norwegian throne to be brought up in Norway since Olav IV in the fourteenth century, and his parents made sure he was given as Norwegian an upbringing as possible. In preparation for his future role, he attended both civilian and military schools. In 1929, he married his first cousin Princess Märtha of Sweden. During World War II his leadership was much appreciated and he was appointed Norwegian Chief of Defence in 1944. Olav became king following the death of his father in 1957. Harald V ( no, Harald den femte, ; born 21 February 1937) is King of Norway. He acceded to the throne on 17 January 1991. Harald was the third child and only son of King Olav V of Norway and Princess Märtha of Sweden. He was second in the line of succession at the time of his birth, behind his father. In 1940, as a result of the German occupation during World War II, the royal family went into exile. Harald spent part of his childhood in Sweden and the United States. He returned to Norway in 1945, and subsequently studied for periods at the University of Oslo, the Norwegian Military Academy, and Balliol College, Oxford. Kaare Langlete
Kaare Langlete (15 June 1931 – 22 June 2009) was a Norwegian military officer and royal servant. He was born and grew up in Trondheim. He started a military career at the age of nineteen, and among others he served for the United Nations at the Suez Canal in 1957. From 1977 to 1981 he was the Chief of His Majesty The King's Guard, and from 1982 to 1990 he served as Chief of Staff of the Crown Prince couple staff ( Crown Prince Harald and Crown Princess Sonja). In 1990 he became chamberlain to the Crown Prince couple. When King Olav V died in 1991 and Harald became the new king, Langlete succeeded Ingvald M. Smith-Kielland as Lord Chamberlain, the highest administrative personnel of the Royal Court. He also organized Olav V's funeral. An audience is a formal meeting that takes place between a head of state and another person at the invitation of the head of state. Often, the invitation follows a request for a meeting from the other person. Though sometimes used in republics to describe meetings with presidents, the term is more usually associated with monarchs and popes. Norges Orienteringsforbund
The Norwegian Orienteering Federation ( no, Norges Orienteringsforbund, NOF) is the national Orienteering Association in Norway. It is recognized as the orienteering association for Norway by the International Orienteering Federation, of which it is a member. The association was founded 1 October 1945, and is a member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports (NIF). Its first chairman was Kaare Thuesen. In 1946 NOF had 204 associated clubs, with just above 7,000 members. The number of clubs and associated members increased gradually through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and peaked in 1984 with 630 clubs and 34,000 members, and 35,000 members and 620 clubs in 1985. The next twenty years saw a decline in the number of clubs and members. Strømmen
Strømmen is a town in Lillestrøm municipality, Viken county, Norway. It is about twenty kilometers east of Oslo, and considered part of Greater Oslo. It has around 11,400 residents. The town has its origins from floating lumber and sawmills along Sagelva. Later there has been heavy industry at Strømmen, including the railway stock manufacturer Strømmens Værksted.
