Magnani
Magnani is an Italian-language occupational surname derived from the occupation of locksmith. The surname Magnani was first found in Bologna (Latin: Bononia), the largest city and the capital of Emilia-Romagna Region. The early record shows that a bearer of Magnani was a government magistrate in 1223. In those ancient times only persons of rank, the podesta, clergy, city officials, army officers, artists, landowners were entered into the records. To be recorded at this time was in itself a family honor. Lorenzo Magnani (born 1952), is an Italian philosopher who teaches philosophy of science in the Department of Humanities, Philosophy Section, at the University of Pavia, where he is full professor and directs the Computational Philosophy Laboratory. Giovanni Magnani
Giovanni Magnani (''fl.'' 1913) was a Romanian-Italian entrepreneur who lived in Bucharest at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1911 he fabricated a set of propellers for '' A Vlaicu II'' airplane, thus becoming the first propeller manufacturer in Southeast Europe. Before meeting Vlaicu, Magnani built around 1910 in Bucharest an ornithopter that never flew. The Palazzo Magnani Feroni is a Renaissance Palace in Florence, central Italy, dating back to the 15th century. The Palazzo Magnani, also known as the ''Palazzo Becchi-Magnani'', is a Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical-style palace located on Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 29 in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The original palace was commissioned in the late 16th century by Count Becchi. The location on the then via della Basilica della Ghiara, Ghiara, now Corso Garibaldi, became a fashionable location for houses of the wealthy in town. The palace is notable for a fine decorated frieze below the roofline and a marble telamon-like figure at the corner of the building, depicting the god Janus, sculpted in 1576 by Prospero Sogari . Cesare Francesco Ricotti Magnani (June 30, 1822 - August 4, 1917) was an Italian general who served as Minister of War of the Kingdom of Italy. Biography He was born at Borgolavezzaro, near Novara. Giulio Magnani ( lat, Julius Magnanus; June 1505 – 25 September 1565) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Calvi Risorta (1560–1565). Palazzo Magnani, Bologna
Palazzo Magnani is a Renaissance palace located on Via Zamboni number 20 in central Bologna, region of Emilia Romagna, Italy, built by the Magnani noble family with the same name. Construction on the palace began in 1577 under architect Domenico Tibaldi until his death in 1583. Floriano Ambrosini then took over the architectural duties. In 1797 the palace became a property of the Guidotti family. In the late 19th century they sold it to the Malvezzi Campeggi family whose coat of arms is still visible on the façade.
