Simon Staho
Danish film director Simon Staho (born 1972) has worked with a number of renowned Swedish actors, including Mikael Persbrandt, Noomi Rapace, Pernilla August and Erland Josephson. Staho’s first feature film ''Vildspor/Wildside (1998)'' was shot in Iceland and starred Mads Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. It was selected for the San Sebastian International Film Festival. Variety wrote in its review: “A solidly crafted thriller with links to classic film noir, though the bleakly beautiful Icelandic settings invest this tale of friendship and betrayal with a distinct ambience. Peter Birro
Peter Birro (born 19 July 1966 in Gothenburg) is a Swedish script writer, poet and musician. In the 1980s and early 1990s, Birro was an obscure poet who performed with the almost equally obscure Swedish band The Christer Petterssons (named after the suspected assassin of Swedish Prime minister Olof Palme, Christer Pettersson). Birro's breakthrough as a writer was his script for the TV-series ''Hammarkullen'' (1997) directed by Agneta Fagerström-Olsson, which follows some people living in a low-income suburb of Gothenburg. It was widely praised for its humor and realism, although some of the real inhabitants of Hammarkullen were not amused. Musical film is a film genre in which songs by the characters are interwoven into the narrative, sometimes accompanied by dancing. D-A-D is a Danish rock band. They were originally named Disneyland After Dark, but changed their name to avoid a lawsuit from The Walt Disney Company. History In the early 1980s in Copenhagen, D-A-D started playing together under their original name ''Disneyland After Dark''. Pedersen came up with the name based on the idea that when the lights are out in Disneyland, anything can happen. The first lineup of D-A-D consisted of Jesper, Stig, Peter and Stig's girlfriend, Lene Glumer. The band's debut concert was at the youth club Sundby Algaard. In December 1982, Lene Glumer left the band and the three of them kept playing together and on 3 March. 1984 Jesper's younger brother, Jacob, joined the band at a concert at Musikcaféen in Copenhagen. Dar Salim (born 18 August 1977) is a Danish actor. He received a Bodil Award nomination in the category Best Actor for the film '' Go With Peace, Jamil'' in 2008. Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (born 16 January 1982) is a Danish actress. She has been nominated for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award.
