Magi-Nation Duel
Magi-Nation Duel, sometimes abbreviated "MND" or simply Magi-Nation, is an out-of-print collectible card game (CCG) published by Interactive Imagination Corp (2i) in October 2000. It was previewed at Gen Con 2000 and was released in October 2000. Lead Designer and Co-Founder of 2i Phillip Tavel created a game with mechanics which resembled and were partially based on Magic: The Gathering, while much of the flavor of the game was based on the anime-style artwork of Matt Holmberg. Greg Richardson Von Oy (the other original Co-Founder of 2i) and Josh Lytle (a former professional gamer) helped to playtest and finalize the original design of the game. Collectible Card Game
A collectible card game (CCG), also called a trading card game (TCG) among other names, is a type of card game that mixes strategy game, strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards, introduced with ''Magic: The Gathering'' in 1993. Generally a Player (game), player may begin playing a CCG with a pre-made Booster pack#Starter deck, starter deck, and then customize their deck with a random assortment of cards acquired through booster packs, or from trading with other players, building up their own library of cards. As a player obtains more cards, they may create new decks from scratch from their library. Players are challenged to construct a deck within limits set by the CCG's rules that will allow them to outlast decks constructed by other players. ''Magi Nation'' is a 2001 video game for the Game Boy Color developed by American studio Interactive Imagination. It is based on the collectible card game ''Magi-Nation Duel''. Gameplay ''Magi Nation'' involves taming ''dream creatures'' and using them to fight. Whenever a creature is defeated, the player may receive that creature's ''animite'', a magical stone containing its essence. These can later be used to forge rings which allow the player to summon during the battle. Each Magi may summon up to four dream creatures at a time, and with up to ten rings equipped, ten dream creatures total at their disposal. Frima Studio is a Canadian digital entertainment studio. Headquartered in Quebec City, Quebec and founded in 2003, the company develops video games across a variety of platforms. Frima also produces animation for television and film. In 2010, Frima was noted as one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada by Profit. History The company was founded in Quebec City in 2003 by Steve Couture, Philippe Bégin and Christian Daigle in the midst of the dotcom crash. Originally, the name Frima comes from the French wordfrimas" which is the layer of frost that forms around windows during winter. Handango was an online store selling mobile apps for personal digital assistants and smartphones headquartered in Irving, Texas. History Handango InHand was founded in 1999 by Randy Eisenman.
