Magdaléna Vášáryová
Magdaléna Vášáryová (; referred also as Magda Vášáryová ; born 26 August 1948) is a Slovakia, Slovak actress and diplomat, prominent for her liberal anti-nationalist stances. Life Vášáryová was born in 1948. In 1971, she completed her studies at Comenius University in Bratislava. Until 1989, she acted in several Slovak theatres, including Slovak National Theatre, and in numerous movies. She was ambassador of Czechoslovakia in Austria (1990-1993) and ambassador of Slovakia in Poland (2000-2005). She was one of the candidates in the 1999 Slovak presidential election, 1999 presidential election, but did not advance to the second round of the election. From February 2005 to July 2006, she held the position of State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia. Banská Štiavnica
Banská Štiavnica (; ; , ) is a town in central Slovakia, in the middle of an immense caldera created by the collapse of an ancient volcano. For its size, the caldera is known as the Štiavnica Mountains. Banská Štiavnica has a population of less than 10,000. It is a completely preserved medieval town. Because of their historical value, the town and its surroundings were proclaimed by the UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site on December 11, 1993. History The fate of Banská Štiavnica has been closely linked to the exploitation of its abundant resources of silver ore. ''Princ Bajaja'' is a 1971 Czechoslovak fantasy film based on the fairy tale ''Prince Bajaja'' by Božena Němcová. The film was directed by Antonín Kachlík. Plot After the death of his parents, the young Prince Bajaja sets out to find his fortune. On his journey, he rescues an enchanted horse, who later comes to his aid. Disguised as a mute gardener, he gets acquainted with Princess Slavěna, who is to be sacrificed to a three-headed dragon on her 18th birthday. Her father, the king, is looking for a suitor for the princess, but no one is prepared to fight the dragon, except Bajaja, who receives magical armor from the enchanted horse. The Czech News Agency (), abbreviated to ČTK, is a national public service news agency in the Czech Republic. It provides its services in Czech and English. History ČTK was founded on 28 October 1918, on the same day as Czechoslovakia, as Czechoslovak News Agency. It was formed from several unoffical Czech press agencies, which until then functioned in exile. It published in several languages, including in German together with then-official Czechoslovak.
