Magazin Istoric Pentru Dacia - 1845
Magazin is a Croatian pop band from Split. Founded in 1979 under the name Dalmatinski magazin ("Dalmatian Magazine" in Croatian), the band quickly began to make a mark on local pop music festivals with its songs influenced by Dalmatian folk music. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Andrea Šušnjara, guitarist Željko Baričić and bass guitarist Nenad Vesanović Keko. Baričić is the only active founding member even though Vesanović featured on every album to date. History The band is a successor to Mladi Batali band that was founded in 1966. The original name Dalmatinski Magazin was shortened to Magazin in 1982. after singer Majda Šoletić left the band. Croatia selected its entry for the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest through the "Dora 1995" contest, which was held on 12 March 1995, organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT) in Opatija. The winners were Magazin and Lidija with "Nostalgija". Before Eurovision Dora 1995 HRT organised the Dora contest to select the Croatian entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, held in Opatija. The national contest consisted of a televised final with 20 songs selected from a public call for submissions from songwriters and composers. The winner was chosen by 20 regional juries. At Eurovision Magazin & Lidija performed 11th on the night of the contest, following Turkey and preceding France. Anthony Cetinski (born 31 May 1969), known professionally as Tony Cetinski, is a Croatian pop singer. Today, he is one of the most popular male singers in Croatia and countries of former Yugoslavia. Biography Born into a family of musicians in Pula (then SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia), Cetinski began singing when he was 15 years old with various local groups.
