John Madson
John Madson (1923 in Ames, Iowa – April 19, 1995 in Alton, Illinois) was a naturalist, conservationist, journalist, and freelancer who worked in the field of outdoor writing. Over time his work concentrated on the celebration of the vanished tallgrass prairie ecosystems of the U.S. Midwest, and he won acclaim from his publisher as "the father of the modern prairie restoration movement." Madson, a Norwegian-American, served with the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II. As a young adult he took a degree in wildlife biology at Iowa State University (1951), and then worked with the Iowa Conservation Commission. He subsequently worked as a reporter for the ''Des Moines Register'', and then became a freelance writer. In later life he lived in Godfrey, Illinois. David P. Madson (born 1976), better known by his stage name Odd Nosdam, is an American underground hip hop producer, DJ and visual artist. He is co-founder of the record label Anticon. He has remixed tracks by a variety of bands and artists including Boards of Canada, The Notwist, and Sole. History Odd Nosdam was first noticed for his production on ''cLOUDDEAD'', the debut album released in 2001 by cLOUDDEAD, his former group with Yoni Wolf of Why? and Doseone. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Dodgers. ''Madson'' is a British television crime drama series, first broadcast on 17 April 1996, that ran for a total of six episodes on BBC1. The series starred Ian McShane as the title character who, sentenced on forged evidence to life imprisonment, gains a law degree in prison and overturns his conviction. Suddenly freed again after eight years inside, he uses his contacts to secure a position as an outdoor clerk with a top firm of City Solicitors. The series was produced by McShane's own production company, and was produced by McShane himself, under the guidance of executive producer Chris Parr.
