Madsen (band)
Madsen is a German rock band that hails from Priesseck, a section of Clenze in the Wendland. Three of the members are brothers with the surname Madsen, hence the band's name. Their music combines elements of pop, rock, indie and punk together with lyrics in German. They released their self-titled debut album in 2005 and reached No. 23 on the German music charts. In 2006, they released their second album, ''Goodbye Logik''. ''Frieden im Krieg'' was released in 2008 and ''Labyrinth'' in 2010. History The Madsen brothers began playing music at an early age. Beatsteaks
The Beatsteaks are a German rock band from Berlin, formed in 1995. History Peter Baumann, Stefan Hircher, Alexander Rosswaag and Bernd Kurtzke founded Beatsteaks in 1995. Shortly afterwards, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß joined the band as singer and additional guitarist. In 1996, the band won a local music competition in ''SO36'' and played as opening act for the Sex Pistols at a concert in Berlin. This was also the band's tenth live performance. In 1997, the band recorded their first album ''48/49'', named after the number of their rehearsal space. It contains several songs in German, while the more recent albums are in English. Tocotronic is a German rock band founded in 1993 (see 1993 in music). Similar to Blumfeld or Die Sterne they are considered a part of the Hamburger Schule (''Hamburg School'') movement. They are influential for bands such as Wir sind Helden. Tocotronic were signed by L'Age D'Or, a German independent record label situated in Hamburg, in 1994 after quickly gaining popularity in the local scene.
