Madonna In Chains
''Madonna in Chains'' (german: Madonna in Ketten) is a 1949 West German drama film directed by Gerhard Lamprecht and starring Lotte Koch, Karin Hardt and Elisabeth Flickenschildt. It was shot in studios in Düsseldorf with location shooting took place in the surrounding region. The film's sets were designed by the art director Alfred Bütow. Plot A woman is wrongly accused of a crime that was really committed by her husband and is sent to jail. While in prison she gives birth and the child is put up for adoption. Once fresh evidence frees her from jail, the woman goes searching for her daughter. Gerhard Lamprecht
Gerhard Lamprecht (6 October 1897 – 4 May 1974) was a German film director, screenwriter and film historian. He directed 63 films between 1920 and 1958. He also wrote for 26 films between 1918 and 1958. Life and career Lamprecht was fascinated by cinema since his childhood and started to work as a film projectionist at age twelve. He studied theatre and art history in Berlin. Carl Möller (actor)
Carl Oskar Möller, (20 April 1857 - 4 December 1933), was a Swedish architect and public official, since 1896 married to Dagmar Bosse. His most well-known works include St. John's Church in Stockholm, which opened in 1890. Möller was in his time in architectural arrangement terms one of the foremost exponents among Swedish architects. Life and career Möller was born in Malmö, Sweden. He was educated in Stockholm at Konstfack from 1870 to 1873, and at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts between 1873 and 1879, when he was awarded with the Royal Medal. The years 1879-1881, he made a study trip to Germany, France, England, Italy and Austria and was in the winter of 1879-80 in Paris, as a student at the École des Beaux-Arts (Atelier Guadet). Willy Millowitsch (, ; 8 January 1909 – 20 September 1999) was a German stage and TV actor and the director of the ''Volkstheater Millowitsch'' in Cologne. Early life Millowitsch was born in Cologne, Rhine Province. His parents were Peter and Käthe Millowitsch and came from a long family tradition of engagement with the theater which can be traced back to 1792. It was not until 1895 however, that Millowitsch's grandfather stopped using puppets and resorted to real actors instead. Millowitsch was interested in theater at an early age and took to the stage for the first time in 1922 at just 13. He quit school without a degree to pursue his acting career full-time. At first he worked under the auspices of his father who had to give up his theater after the inflation hit. This forced them to go on tour in and around Cologne until they got a permanent theater in 1936, the now famous ''Volkstheater Millowitsch'', which Willy took over from his father in 1940.
