Madison Parks
Madison Bianca Parks (born November 14, 1993) is a Canadian freestyle wrestler. She won the silver medal in the women's 50kg event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. She also won the silver medal in the women's 50kg event at the 2022 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Acapulco, Mexico. Career Parks competed in the women's 50kg event at the 2020 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Ottawa, Canada. In 2021, she lost her bronze medal match in the women's 50kg event at the 2021 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Guatemala City, Guatemala. A few months later, Parks was eliminated in her second match in the women's 50kg event at the World Wrestling Championships held in Oslo, Norway. In 2022, Parks won the gold medal in her event at the Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series 2022 held in Rome, Italy. 2021 World Wrestling Championships
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 2 to 10 October 2021 in Oslo, Norway. The event was subsequent to the 2019 World Championships due to the cancelation of the 2020 edition during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Individual World Cup was held as replacement for the World Wrestling Championships. 2022 World Wrestling Championships – Women's Freestyle 50 Kg
The women's freestyle 50 kilograms is a competition featured at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, and was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 13 and 14 September 2022. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. Wrestling Canada Lutte
The sport of wrestling has been practiced in Canada for more than a century, with the first amateur wrestling championships being held at Toronto's Argonaut Rowing Club in 1901. The sport continued to grow during the 20th century and by 1969, the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association was formed. Today the same organization is called Wrestling Canada Lutte, and is the national governing body for Olympic style wrestling in Canada. The organization's purpose is to encourage and develop the widest participation and highest proficiency in Olympic wrestling in Canada. Canada Summer Games Wrestling is a sport officially included in the Canada Summer Games program.
