Madingo Afework
Tegene Afework (Amharic: ተገኔ አፈወርቅ; 16 August 1978 – 27 September 2022), known professionally as Madingo Afework (Amharic: ማዲንጎ አፈወርቅ), was an Ethiopian singer. Born in Gondar, he moved to military barracks nearby in the region where he was given his name "Madingo" by soldiers. There, Madingo joined the military band Zema Leras. Afework was widely known for his two albums ''Ayderegim'' (2005) and ''Swedlat'' (2015). Life and career Afework was born in Azezo town in Gondar, Ethiopia on 16 August 1978 from his mother Hagernesh Wassie and Afework Mengistu. His family then moved to Debre Tabor to enroll his primary education. During his childhood, he was influenced by several famous singers at the time, notably Elias Tebabel, Muluken Melesse, Meles Edeshe and Ephrem Tamiru, and many fans admired that Madingo had a capability to imitate these artists' songs. Azezo
Azezo (Amharic: አዘዞ) is a town in northern Ethiopia south of the city of Gondar. History The town of Azezo was established around the same time Gondar was settled in the 16th century (between 1632-1687). Azezo was occupied by the Italians during the follow-up to World War II, establishing a military camp nearby the village between 1936 and 1941. After the defeat of the Italians by a joint British and Ethiopian force (the Gideon Force), the camp remained operational. In the early 1990s, following the overthrow of the Derg, the camp was partially demobilized and Azezo's main source of income was diminished, with the ecological care of nearby rivers being halted as a result. Azezo today is a suburban market town that is mostly associated with its closest city, Gondar. Abiy Ahmed Ali ( om, Abiyi Ahmed Alii; am, አብይ አሕመድ ዐሊ; born 15 August 1976) is an Ethiopian politician who has been the 4th prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia since 2 April 2018. He won the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his work in ending the 20-year post-war territorial stalemate between Ethiopia and Eritrea. Abiy was the third chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) that governed Ethiopia for 28 years and the first Oromo in that position. Holy Trinity Cathedral (Addis Ababa)
Holy Trinity Cathedral, also known in Amharic as Kidist Selassie, is the highest ranking Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo cathedral in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was built to commemorate the Ethiopian victory over Italian occupation and is an important place of worship in Ethiopia, alongside other cathedrals such as the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum. Title The cathedral bears the title "Menbere Tsebaot", or "Pure Altar". Adanech Abebe ( om, Adaanach Abbabee) is an Ethiopian politician and attorney who is serving as the thirty-second mayor of Addis Ababa. She has been serving as a deputy mayor from 2020 until 2021.
