Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), headquartered at Indore, India, is the governing body of cricket in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and the Madhya Pradesh cricket team. The board was formed in 1940 as the Holkar Cricket Association. It is one of the Cricket Governing provincial units affiliated with the Board of Control for Cricket in India. MPCA is one of the oldest affiliates of the BCCI – since the 1940s. In the recent past, MPCA has contributed to the careers of Indian cricketers like Col. C.K. Nayudu, Capt. Mushtaq Ali, Narendra Hirwani, Rajesh Chouhan, Amay Khurasiya, Naman Ojha, etc. MPCA is a regular participant in all domestic tournaments conducted by the BCCI. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium located in Indore, India, is a multi-purpose stadium used for cricket, football, Kho Kho, and basketball with a capacity for 25,000 people. However, all the international as well as national cricket matches take place at the "Holkar Stadium which is situated at Race Course Road, Indore and a plethora of different sports activities take place at the Nehru Stadium which also partly serves as the Headquarters of the Air-Force wing of the Western Command of the National Cadet Corps (India). Yeshwantrao Holkar II
Maharajadhiraj Raj Rajeshwar Sawai Shri Sir Yeshwant Rao II Holkar XIV Bahadur (6 September 1908 – 5 December 1961) was the Maharaja of Indore (Holkar State, now in present-day Madhya Pradesh) belonging to the Holkar dynasty of the Marathas. Biography He was educated at the Cheam School, Charterhouse and Christ Church, Oxford. He succeeded his father Tukojirao Holkar III, who abdicated in his favour on 26 February 1926. Madhya Bharat, also known as Malwa Union, was an Indian state in west-central India, created on 28 May 1948 from twenty-five princely states which until 1947 had been part of the Central India Agency, with Jiwajirao Scindia as its Rajpramukh. Sanjay Madansingh Jagdale (born 22 September 1950 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh) is a former Indian cricketer and a former member of the Selection Committee. He is the son of former Indian national team selector Madhavsinh Jagdale. Virender Sehwag (born 20 October 1978) is a former Indian cricketer who represented India from 1999 to 2013.
