Madhusudan Rao
Madhusudan Rao (19 January 1853 – 28 December 1912) was an Odia poet and writer from India. He was known as ''Bhaktakabi''. His most well known work is the ''Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha''. Life He was born on 19 January 1853 in the district of Puri. He was a prominent Odia poet and essayist widely considered as the ''Father Of Modern Odia Poetry'', by adding foreign (western) lyrical elements and experimentation. He died on 28 December 1912. Puri
Puri () is a coastal city and a Nagar Palika, municipality in the state of Odisha in eastern India. It is the district headquarters of Puri district and is situated on the Bay of Bengal, south of the state capital of Bhubaneswar. It is also known as ''Sri Jagannatha Dhama'' after the 12th-century Jagannath Temple (Puri), Jagannath Temple located in the city. It is one of the original Char Dham pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Bhavabhūti (Devanagari: भवभूति) was an 8th-century scholar of India noted for his plays and poetry, written in Sanskrit. His plays are considered the equal of the works of Kalidasa. Bhavabhuti was born in Padmapura, Vidarbha, in Gondia district, on Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh border. He is described as an 'Udumbara Brahmin'. His real name was ''Srikantha Nilakantha'', and he was the son of Nilakantha and Jatukarni. He received his education at 'Padmapawaya', a place some 42 km South-West of Gwalior. Dayananidhi Paramahansa is known to be his guru. He composed his historical plays at 'Kalpi', a place on banks of river Yamuna.
